The history of the sculpture starting to take place in public spaces extends to the monumental statue, and thus to the classical period. However, in the public space, which emerged as an example of the artist's intellectual attitude, art samples started to be visible with the art after 1960. In our country, the first examples of this began with the Republican era and examples of going beyond monumentality became clear in the 70s and after. In our country, the statues supported by state and art formations started to take place in public spaces, especially since 1990s. After the 90s, we started to witness new alternative spaces of art in the public sphere. shopkeepers, ferries, universities etc. In the study, examples of new spaces with the transition of art from monumentality and its changing meanings in public space will be given. The emergence of new alternative spaces in the public sphere as well as the increase of new forms of discourse in art.
