Abstract

Gestalt is a theory and approach that consists of various principles of perception to make the piece and the whole meaningful. In this theory, it is generally accepted that the whole is composed of parts, but the whole must be grasped in order for the perception to be fully and accurately realized. Therefore, it has an important place in this theory that the whole part has a meaning in terms of perception. Gestalt is not merely a collection of principles of perception, but has been used not only by psychologists but also by artists. In this study, the principle of completion in the perception of gestalt, which is one of the principles of gestalt, has been studied in ceramic works. Various gestalt principles, including the principle of completion in the perception, were also used in the works, which were discussed together with various concepts and contexts. Both the names of the works and the use of the principle of completion in perception in the context of gestalt tried to question the works on the conceptual level so that both the responses of the theory in the works and the subjective interpretations of the artist were tried to be included.
