Abstract

Cagatay Turkish was used for many years, from the 15th century to beginnings of 20th century, as speaking and writing language of the Asian Muslim Eastren Turkish Nationality. This language which had lived for centuries was used as literary and government language. In Cagatay language many literary works were written espacially about historical and religious ones. One of those works is Muhakemetu'l-Lugateyn which was written by Ali Sir Neavi. It is one of the most important literary work of Turkish literary with its word wealth and Turkish language consciousness. One of the types of words in Makemetu'l-Lugateyn is verbs. In this passage we make a study of some verbs including çıda-, ḳada-, ḳazġan-, ḳıçıġla-, köndür-, söndür-, suḳlat-, töz-, tüz-, yada-. We try to analyze how they have kept their word types until today.
