Abstract

Lullaby is a musical emotional bond established between mother and baby. The lullabies can also be referred to as "mother’s song" because they are performed with mother voice and tune. At the same time, lullabies are songs in which words, music, movement and rhythm are put together and are sung to the babies to make them sleep, transmitting a short, concise message directly. What makes lullabies different are that the lullabies are intertwined with music, leave a nice effect on the ears of babies and transport the harmony elements of life to the baby from the first day. The music education started with auditory perception education from the infancy has been effective in children's speech, in learning concepts, in using the body in a coordinated way. The mother communicates with the baby in a versatile way by means of the lullabies including music and rhythmic movements .In this study, it was sought to investigate the influence of the lullabies on the musical development of the child in the frame of the mother-child-lullaby motifs. The musical development of the child can be described as musical change that lays the base on the prenatal period and moves until the middle of puberty, showing continuous progress. In this context, the mother-child-lullaby motifs play an important role in the musical development process.
