Abstract

“Color” emerging at the point, where the relevant domains of physics, chemistry, psychology, physiology, philosophy, sociology meet and intercept, moving and finding meaning at the boundaries of knowledge as well as experience covered by all conceptual disciplines, is a phenomenon stepping forward and becoming prominent in respect of artistic doctrines as well as applicatory dimensions. As one of the supporting elements of meaning in art, “color” is one of the basic and primary instruments of the visual language contrived and formed by art. As an active component of the visual language, the itinerary of color in contemporary art, as well as and including its place in conceptual and productive processes constitutes the subject matter of this study. Within premises and confines of Contemporary Art, the domain of production of avant-garde (pioneering) artists positioning color on the basis of artistic apprehension and indoctrination is located at the fundamental focus of the visual language constructed over color and such perception indicative of the idea defended by this text. In conclusion, observing and beholding contemporary art, “color” in the sense of eternally extending parlance of art, is maintaining its privileged status as a lively and ultimately active phenomenon bearing novel possibilities.
