Abstract

Women's Rights in Republic period gained strenght through the women of prominent families of the women's movement which started with II. Constitutional Monarchy in big cities and communities and magazines they revealed. In our study,"Assistant Nursery Community" was examined which was officially establish on 14 March 1923 in Izmir that can be regarded as one of the women's movements created in the first year of the Republic. As a result of the archives studie related to the association in this direction; The document published in the form of Journal/Booklet under the name of Assistant Nursery Community of 1923 and the activity report published in 1927 was reached. All of the founding members of the Assistant Nursery Community were made up prominent women from Izmir as can be seen from the report ,which examined, of Journal/Booklet and Society under the name of Assistant Nursery Community of 1923. It has been seen that these people are connected with the Himaye-i Etfâl Society, Izmir Turkish Chamber and the civil society organizations at the time. It is possible to say that the society was an important institution in the first years of the Republic in the name of the women's movement. It could not hear its name on the history pages because it could not see enough support in terms of material and moreal during its activities.
