First term Turkish dialect dictionary studies were made in the form of dialect of the dictionaries prepared outside of Turkey until 1940's. The first fruit of this field which started to revive since 1980's is Hayati Develi's thesis work entitled "Azerbaijani Turkish Dictionary". This dictionary is the first dictionary work done in Turkey regarding Azerbaijani Turkic which is one of the Turkish dialects of South-West (Oghuz) Group. The number of the words in a dictionary is extremely important in terms of the evaluation of the dictionary. A language is assessed by the number of words in the vocabulary dictionary. Starting from this point we research the vocabulary of the dictionaries on Turkish dialects. In this study, the words of Azerbaijani Turkish will be counted, their characteristics will be revealed and the dictionaries will be introduced.},author={Serdar BULUT},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
