Mechanical philosophy was established by Descartes who thought that raelity was percepted not by insight but human mind. Thus, last scientific paradigm predicted the reality by cause and effect relationship, which was based on certainity and determinity (Erçetin, 2001). The paradigm also controlled organizational life and approached organizational dynamics in a certain and deterministic way. However, new changes shifting the globe from industrial to knowledge society, centralization to decentralization, hierarchical to network structures pave a way for evolutionary transformation based on the fact that knowledge is esoteric and phenomena changes in a complex dynamical processes. This transformation points out that complex systems shouln’t be approached in a certai and determinist way. In this study, complex adaptive leadership for school principals (CAL-SP) as a new paradigm was intended to analyze theoreticaly in connection with theory of complex adaptive leadership (CAL) conceptualized by Uhl-Bien, Marrion and McKelvey. As a conclusion, CAL promises a hope to be a holistic transformative theory which can meet changing perceptions of people and provide interactions.
