Abstract

The survey model has been adopted in this study which aims firstly at assessing the specific field proficiency of educators teaching musical literacy, a requisite subject in the curriculum of fine arts high schools which accept students through special talent examination and train them for further education in their specialty fields, akin to vocational high schools, and secondly at creating a draft enlisting the proficiencies deemed as quintessential. The data in this study have been obtained through literature survey and Delphi method. Quantitative and qualitative data have been obtained in the study whose working group was chosen from musical literacy teachers serving in the music department of fine arts high schools and academics of the department of Music within the departments of Fine Arts Education in faculties of Education. In the final chapter of the study, the articles which were not agreed upon were taken out of the list and the researcher’s commentary and suggestions were presented.
