Abstract

The importance of games and toys in children’s development cannot be denied. Game is effective in both children’s learning and social development. A child who is included in a group when playing games is not alone when he or she is playing game on his or her own indeed. It is seen that a child who is playing house alone performs different roles at the same time. Thus, the creativity of the child who does not even need preliminary preparation for this comes out at this point. Toys are the game instruments which color children’ games, sometimes lead the game, and attract children with their visuals. Indeed, toys are often everything that child sees, finds around and includes in the game. Are the games and toys which have such an essential place in child’s life emphasized adequately? Which games and toys are involved mostly in children’s book? In this study, it was aimed to choose the children’s books which include the words game or toy in their names, and show the place of game and toys in children’s book.
