CENTURY},abstractNode={In this study, in the XVI. centurythe villages of Kırçova which are located near the border of Macedonian Republic’s southeastern region, distribution of the population of these villages and the production structure will be studied. Even though there are monographic studies about Ottoman village societies, in what kind of a situation and according to which criteria the population activities of the villages are formed and the variation of human masses forming the source of this mobility are not known. Firstly, distribution of the various harvests produced in Kırçova county villages, tools and techniques, irrigation, productivity and the amount of the harvest are mentioned. The production of basic goods is alson discussed. The internal structures of the villages, the reasons of the increase and the decrease of the population and the taxes which farmers paid are the apparent characteristics of rural life.
