Abstract

This article deals with the relationship between literature and ideology, which have been occupying the agenda of art critics and thinkers for more than two centuries, from Marxist and idealist aesthetics perspectives. Idealists, who deals with literature based on its relationship with the reality, deny the role of ideology in literature and defines literature as a creation process. On the other hand, Marxist approach focus on the relationship between literature and social conscious and defines it as reflection of reality. In addition, some Marxist critics base literature on relationship between productive forces and evaluate it as a field where reality is produced. The author relies on ideology when creating his work and carries reality to the text. That is, as reflection of social conscious, literature is nourished and empowered by the ideology.
