A QUALITATIVE STUDY ON ESTABLISHING MAP LITERACY OF GEOGRAPHY TEACHER CANDIDATES DURING FIELD STUDIES COĞRAFYA ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ COĞRAFİ ARAZİ UYGULAMALARINDAKİ HARİTA OKURYAZARLIKLARINI TESPİTE YÖNELİK BİR ARAŞTIRMA
This study was prepared to establish map literacy of geography teacher candidates during field works in the Central Anatolia region. A four-day field trip to the Central Anatolia was organized for this reason. The date and plan of this trip were organized in advance by taking into consideration the opinions of the participants. The fields, which envisaged to study, examined and reported beforehand by working group. Prepared reports handed to working group before and during field trip. After comleting the field work, the participant filled a questionnaire, whose quesitons contain open-ended questions, prepared taking expert views. In this questionnaire map, location, direction, symbol, scale, distance, features such as landforms have been questioned. Questions that determined by purposive sampling applied to the participants. After this application, the data obtained were analyzed and subjected to descriptive analysis techniques. The survey recorded that none the participants had diffi
