Abstract

This research is conducted to determine the patient safety culture of nurses, clinical secretary and medical attendants who are hired by contracting out. The research was carried out in Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Medical School Hospital in Konya with 150 employees who are employed by contracting out. In the research, a questionnaire and a survey of Patient Safety Information which is tested for reliability and validity was applied. The data from this survey is analyzed by using statistical instruments such as frequency, arithmetic mean and one sided ANOWA tests. As a result, the point of patient safety sensitivity for medical attendants is found to be 59,13±17,17; while for the nurses it is found to be 54,79±16,56 and for clinical secretaries60,74±19,61. Furthermore, this research shows that 89.3% of the staff who is employed by contracting out (134 employees) does not report the incidents with staff’s fault and only 10,7% of the staff report them.
