The study area where Mediterranean climate is effective with significant summer droughts, Çaygören Dam was built on the Simav River in order to solve the problem of agricultural irrigation. The dam is used to irrigate 20.026 hectares of the surrounding agricultural activities of agricultural products grown in the field and also has significant impact in terms of population living. As in many regions of Turkey, irrigation in the agriculture constitutes a major problem in the study area. This study aims to investigate the impact of the Çaygören Dam built in the region in order to find solution for the problem of irrigation on agricultural activities in the field. Results of the study revealed that the importance of the Çaygören Dam in the agricultural activities of the area is an undeniable fact.
