Abstract
Sabahattin Ali’nin diğer birçok eserinde olduğu gibi Kürk Mantolu Madonna’da da “korku” ve “acıma” duyguları eserin genelinde kendini hissettiren iki baskın duygudur. Tragedyanın ana malzemesi olarak değerlendirebileceğimiz bu iki duygunun yanında ona özgün karakterini veren “seçme özgürlüğü/yazgı”, “değiştirilebilirlik/kaçınılmazlık”, “faillik/edilginlik”, “hata(suç)/ceza” ikilikleri, yine Kürk Mantolu Madonna’da da eserin kurgusunda ve fikirsel yapısında önemli etkiye sahiptir. Her ne kadar bir sahne eseri olarak tragedya, gerek biçimi, gerekse o günün dünyasının insan ve evren kavrayışını yansıtan özü bakımından önemli değişikliklere uğramış olsa da trajik yapıyı oluşturmak bakımından yüzyıllardır sanatçıları etkilemeyi sürdürmektedir. Bugün de tragedyanın yapısında yer alan çelişkiler ve karşıtlıklar etrafında insan, evrendeki konumunu sorgulamaya devam etmektedir. Mitolojiye, Eski Yunan ve Batı edebiyatına ilgisi bilinen Sabahattin Ali’nin Kürk Mantolu Madonna’sı da birçok eseri gibi trajik görünümlerinin altında tragedyaya özgü önemli ögelerden izler taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada Kürk Mantolu Madonna romanı, romanın trajik yapısını oluşturan “daimon”, “hamartia”, “anagnorisis”, “peripeteia” ve “hybris” gibi unsurlar etrafında incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
As in many other works of Sabahattin Ali, the sense of fear and pity in Madonna in a Fur Coat are the two dominant emotions that make themselves felt throughout the work. In addition to these two emotions, which we can consider as the main material of tragedy, the dualities of: freedom of choice vs. destiny; changeability vs. inevitability; agency vs. passivity; and error (crime) vs. punishment, are each which give the tragedy its original character, are also have an important effect on the fiction and intellectual structure of Madonna in a Fur Coat. Tragedy as a stage work constantly reflects the intellectual conceptions of each era and has therefore undergone significant changes in terms of both its form and its essence. Nonetheless, it has continued to influence artists for centuries in its most basic terms of creating a tragic structure. Around the contradictions and oppositions in the structure of tragedy, humans continue to question their position in the universe. Sabahattin Ali, who was influenced by mythology, Ancient Greek and Western literature, was inspired by tragedy-specific elements in his Madonna in a Fur Coat, to present such a tragic vision, like in many of his works. In this study, these elements of the tragic vision such as "daimon", "hamartia", "anagnorisis", "peripeteia" and "hybris", which constitute the tragic structure of the novel "Madonna in a Fur Coat", will each be studied and explored.
