Abstract
Günümüz toplumunda bireyler artık zaman ve mekâna bağlı kalmadan sanal iletişim araçlarıyla birlikte istedikleri şekilde görüşebilmekte ve bu sanal ortamlar üzerinden duygu ve düşüncelerini paylaşarak birbirleriyle etkileşimde bulunabilmektedir. Nitekim amaca ve ilgilere yönelik sohbet odası kurma imkânı sunan Discord’da da kolay bir şekilde arkadaş edinilebilmektedir. Son yıllarda ergenlik dönemindeki bireyler de bu sanal ortamlarda arkadaşlık ilişkileri kurmaktadırlar. Bu bağlamda bu araştırmanın amacı ergenlerin sanal sohbet ortamı olan Discord’da kurdukları arkadaşlık ilişkilerini incelemektir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu İstanbul’un Fatih ilçesinde özel bir lisede öğrenim gören 14-17 yaş aralığındaki 10 ergen (7 erkek, 3 kız) oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme tekniği ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada veriler sekiz sorudan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sürecinde elde edilen bulgular üç alt amaç bağlamında değerlendirilmiştir. Toplamda 133 kod, 41 kategori, 16 tema elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre ergenler sanal sohbet platformu olan Discord’u genellikle yeni ilişkiler kurmak ve burada sohbet etmek amacıyla kullanmaktadır. Ergenler aynı zamanda bu ortamda doğabilecek tehlikelerin farkındadır ve bu sebeple ergenlere göre uygulamanın güvenilir olup olmaması kişinin kullanımına bağlıdır.

Abstract
In today's society, individuals can now communicate as they wish through virtual communication tools without being bound by time and space, and interact with each other by sharing their feelings and thoughts through these virtual environments. As a matter of fact, it is easy to make friends on Discord, which offers the opportunity to set up chat room customized for purpose and interests. In recent years, individuals in adolescence have been establishing friendships in these virtual environments. In this context, the aim of this study is to examine the friendships of adolescents that are established on Discord, a virtual chat environment. Phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The study group of this research consists of 10 adolescents (7 boys, 3 girls) between the ages of 14-17, who are studying at the high school level of a private school in Fatih district of Istanbul. The study group of the research was determined by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview form consisting of eight questions. Content analysis was used to analyze the research data. The findings obtained during the research process were evaluated in the context of three sub-objectives. A total of 133 code, 41 categories and 16 themes were obtained. According to the results of the study, adolescents generally use Discord to establish new relationships and chat here. At the same time, according to adolescents, whether the application is reliable or not depends on the usage of the person.
