Abstract

Abstract

The current known as character education has been a topic of interest for many researchers throughout the world for a long period of time. It has been a matter of concern for various levels of formal education, from preschool to tertiary education. Since early years have a considerable effect on the formation of character of young children, a high degree of attention has focussed on the implementation of character education during early childhood. The early years mean the time when all kinds of development take place at their highest level and character development is among them, along with especially brain and social, emotional development. Preschool teachers are in the best position to affect their students’ characters in a positive manner outside home. Therefore, early childhood is critical in terms of starting to become good human beings who possess values and morals, with the assistance and leadership of preschool teachers at school. In this review article, it has been aimed at providing a survey of previously published research on character education in preschool years. In other words, it has been intended to critique other authors’ viewpoints and also assess already available content. Finally, some suggestions for further research have been provided which could lead to explore potential research areas.
