Abstract

Abstract

Mandala are symbols that have a wide usage area in Indian religions and are related and related to many subjects. As a matter of fact, the use of mandala in Buddhism and esoteric traditions, which belong to the group of Indian religions, is seen intertwined with other practices and rituals in this field. In this context, it is thought that it would be very appropriate to examine its relationship with other practices in the esoteric tradition in order to better understand the mandala symbols. When it comes to esoteric religious traditions, yoga, meditation, tantra, mantra and mudra practices come to the fore. By considering these applications separately, the connection between the related applications and mandala symbols has been revealed. At this point, primarily an etymological study was made about esoteric practices, and then their places in Buddhism and other Indian religions were mentioned as much as possible.
