Abstract
Araştırmada extended piyano teknikleri ve notasyonunda kullanılan sembol ve ifadeler incelenmiştir. Extended piyano tekniklerinin ve bu teknikleri göstermek için kullanılan sembol ve ifadelerin açıklanması ile konuya ilgi duyan icracılara, eğitimcilere ve bireylere bir kaynak ve rehber oluşturulması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu teknikler ve önemli eser örneklerinin notasyonunda kullanılan sembol ve ifadeler, yapılan doküman analizi, verilen eser örnekleri ve eserlerin notalarının incelenmesi ile ortaya koyulmuştur. Extended piyano tekniklerini kullanarak bestelenmiş eserler arasından notasına ulaşılabilen 9 bestecinin 52 eseri incelenmiş, kullanılan semboller arasındaki benzerliklerin ve farklılıkların yanında icra ayrıntılarına değinilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; extended piyano tekniklerinin bestecilerin yeni arayışları ile ortaya çıktığına, tekniklerin genel tanımının çalgıdan alışılagelmişin dışında farklı ses üretme yöntemleri olduğuna, notasyonun her bestecinin kendini ifade etme şekline yönelik farklılıklar ve benzerlikler gösterdiğine, kullanılan notasyonun, ifadelerin ve program notlarının her durumda olmasa bile, genel anlamda uygulanacak teknikleri açıklamak hususunda yeterli ve anlaşılır olduğuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract
In the study extended piano techniques and the symbols and expressions used in the notation of the techniques are analyzed. The aim of the study is to explain extended piano techiques with the symbols and expressions used to describe them and create a resource and guide for performers, educators and individuals interested in these techniques. Extended piano techniques and symbols and expressions used to signify these techniques in important works of various composers presented via document analysis, examples of notation and analyzing scores related to these techniques. Among the pieces composed by using extended piano techniques 52 works of 9 composers were examined. The details of the techniques, symbols and expressions used in these works were shown besides the similarities and differences. In conclusion it was found that the extended piano techniques has arised from new searches of composers, thier notation shows similarities and differences according to the choices of composers, the program notes of the scores, symbols and expressions used to signify extended piano techniques in notation is mostly sufficient to discribe what is needed to be done to apply techniques to performers.
