Abstract
Heykelin temel motivasyonu, insanın kendi tasvirinin gerçekçi olmasıdır. Gerçek insanın kanıtıyken, hakikat insan müdahalesinin dışında bir varoluş olarak kabul edilmiştir. Verizm de antik dönemden günümüze hakikati simüle edebilme arayışıdır. Hiper-gerçekçi veristik heykel ise 20.yüzyılın ikinci yarısında malzeme imkânlarıyla beraber gerçek ve hakikat arasında yeni bir ilişki kurmuştur. Ancak heykel gerçeğe yaklaştıkça izleyicisi ile silikleşen sınırlar ikiz ve tekinsiz bir his yaratmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında verizmin önemli temsilcilerinden biri olan biri olan Amerikalı hiper-gerçekçi heykeltıraş John DeAndrea’nın heykellerinde içerik-biçem-malzeme ilişkisi ele alınmaktadır. Sanatçının heykellerinde kullandığı malzemelerin kalıcılık ve hakikat arayışı bağlamında, kariyerinin başından bugüne dek geçirdiği değişim incelenmektedir.

Abstract
The main motivation of the sculpture is that the human portrayal is realistic. While “reality” is the proof of human, truth is accepted as an existence outside of human intervention. Verism is the quest to simulate truth from the antiquity to the present day. In the second half of the twentieth century, the hyper-realistic veristic sculpture , established a new relationship between reality and truth with the invention of new materials. However, as the sculpture gets closer to reality, the faded borders with the audience create a twin and uncanny feeling. In this study, the content-style-material relationship in the sculptures of the American hyper-realist sculptor John DeAndrea, one of the important representatives of taxation in the second half of the 20th century, is examined. In the context of the search for persistence and truth of the materials that the artist uses in his sculptures, the changes that he has experienced since the beginning of his career are examined.
