İKİNCİ DÜNYA SAVAŞI’NIN BAŞLANGIÇ VE BİTİŞ EVRELERİNDE GAZETE MANŞETLERİ: KARŞILAŞTIRMALI BİR ANALİZ

Abstract
Çalışma, II. Dünya Savaşı’nın başlangıç ve bitiş evrelerindeki manşetler üzerinden dönemin gazetelerine yönelik karşılaştırmalı bir analiz yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, dönemin baskı sayısı yüksek gazetelerinden Akşam, Cumhuriyet, Tan ve Ulus gazetelerinden 707 manşet içerik analizine; analiz neticesinde elde edilen veriler ise Ki-kare testine tabi tutulmuştur. Yapılan analiz ve testler neticesinde elde edilen bulgular, dönemin gelişmelerinin kısıtlılık göstermeksizin gazetelerde aktarıldığını, ancak gazetelere göre duyarlılık gösterilen konuların farklılaştığını göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda, Akşam gazetesinin harpteki gelişmelere, Cumhuriyet gazetesinin diplomatik gelişmelere, Tan gazetesinin problemli konulara, Ulus gazetesinin ise yurtiçi gündeme ve reisicumhura diğer gazetelerden görece daha fazla duyarlılık sergilediği gözlemlenmiştir. Çalışma, dönemin gazetelerini, manşetlerine odaklanarak mukayeseye etmesi bakımından alan yazındaki benzerlerinden ayrılmaktadır.

Abstract
This study aims to make a comparative analysis of the newspapers, taking into consideration the headlines of the beginning and ending phases of World War II. In line with this purpose, 707 headline contents of high circulation newspapers of that period; Akşam, Cumhuriyet, Tan and Ulus were analyzed. The data obtained on the basis of the analysis were subjected to the Chi-square test. Findings from analysis and tests; Shows that the developments of the period were transmitted from the newspapers without any limitation, however, the issues that the newspapers have shown sensitivity vary. In this context it was observed that relatively Akşam shows sensitivity to the developments in the war, Cumhuriyet shows sensitivity to diplomatic developments, Tan shows sensitivity to problematic issues and Ulus shows sensitivity to the domestic agenda and the president than the others. This study leaves from similar by comparing that periods of newspapers via focusing headlines.
