Abstract
Son yıllarda kırsal turizm kapsamında doğan yeni hizmet türleri, kırsal bölgelerin taşıdığı turizm potansiyeline ivme kazandırmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı; alternatif turizm türlerinden kırsal turizmin sahip olduğu potansiyelin ortaya çıkarılması ve örnek olay çalışması çerçevesinde, bu alanda hizmet veren bir işletmenin faaliyetlerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırmada öncelikle literatür taraması yapılmış ve kırsal turizm kavramı açıklanmıştır. Ardından kırsal turizmin bölgeye sağladığı ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur. Araştırmanın yönteminde Örnek olay çalışması kapsamında bir kırsal turizm işletmesi olan Narköy incelenmiştir ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden derinlemesine mülakat tekniği ile işletme yöneticilerine kırsal turizm faaliyetlerine yönelik sorular yöneltilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; kırsal turizmin bölgede çevre duyarlılığını ön planda tutarak, yerel halkın ekonomik ve sosyal gelişimine katkı sağlayacak şekilde sürdürüldüğü ortaya çıkmıştır. Bununla birlikte kırsal turizm; Narköy işletmesi yöneticileri tarafından hem günümüzün hem geleceğin en ideal ve faydalı turizm türü olarak görülmektedir.

Abstract
In recent years, new types of services arising within the scope of rural tourism has been giving impetus to the tourism potential of rural regions. The aim of this research is to uncover hidden potential owned of the rural tourism of rural tourism which is one of the alternative types of tourism and also to evaluate the activities of a company providing services in this area, as examining the in form of a case study. Firstly, in the research, literature review has been made and also the concept of rural tourism has been explained. Then, it has focused on the economic and socio-cultural impacts of rural tourism on the region on the region that are tourism-based. Within the scope of case study a rural tourism business, Narköy has been examined. Rural tourism activities-related interview questions has been addressed to the managers of the business. The interview was designed as in-depth interview which is one of the qualitative research methods. Based on the results, with keeping at the forefront of environmental awareness in the region, it is emerged as the rural tourism has been sustained to contribute to the local community's economic and social development. Likewise, rural tourism has been seen as both the ideal and beneficial forms of tourism in the future by the managers of the Narköy Business. Results show that; rural tourism has been sustaining in a way that not only prioritising environmental awareness of the region but also contributing economic and social development of local residents. Furthermore, rural tourism has been considered as the most ideal and beneficial tourism type both for present and future.
