Abstract
Musiki nazariyatının başlıca konuları olan perde, makam ve usullerle ilgili bilgileri arşivlerde bulunan "kitâb-ı edvâr", “musiki risalesi” adı verilen eserlerin incelenmesi sonucu anlayabiliyoruz. Bu değerli kaynaklar bizlere bir yandan teori bilgileri sunmakta, diğer yandan da eserin yazıldığı dönemin musiki anlayışının nasıl olduğunu anlamamıza fırsat tanımaktadır. Araştırmanın konusu İslam medeniyetinin mûsîki çalışmalarına verdiği önemi tarihsel bir süreçte ele alıp, mümkün olduğu kadar geniş bir yelpazede değerlendirmektir. Bu hususta kronolojik bir yöntem izlenerek, Eski Yunan kaynaklarından etkilenen ve onların eserlerini tercüme yoluyla geniş kitlelere duyuran araştırmacılardan hareketle IX. yüzyıldan başlayarak XV. yüzyılın sonuna kadar yer alan nazarîyatçılar ve eserleri tespit edilmiştir. Bu vesileyle Müslüman bilim insanlarının yazdıkları eserler incelenerek onların sadece matematik, astronomi, tıp dallarında değil müzik alanında da önemli eserler bırakmış olduğu sergilen

Abstract
We can understand the basic subjects of music theory like pitch, mode, method. when we researched "kitâb-ı edvâr", "musiki risalesi" found in archives. This important sources not only gives us theorical informations but also gives us the opportunity to know about musical understanding of that era. The subject of this survey is the importance of the process which is seen in Islam civilization in terms of music. this subject is evaluated deeply. in this aspect by following chronological method; with the help of researchers who are effected by old Greek sources, we tried to determine the theoricians and their works who are prolific from the early years of 9th century to the end of 15th century. Thanks to this survey, by analyzing the works of Muslim scientists we saw that their profession is not only in mathematics, astronomy and medicine brenches but also their importance in music as well.
