One of the most recent issues in paleoanthropological research is the identification of the Homo genus who first appeared in Africa, the routes they crosses, the processes of dispersals and the settlement locations. For this purpose, researches are being carried out in many parts of the world and new finds are being taken every day to contribute to solving this phenomena. Turkey, geographically, takes a position like a bridge between the African, European and Asian continents and has been on the migration routes throughout the human history. In this study, findings from the new discoveries are discussed from Şerefköy, Kemikalan, Gülpınar, Etili, Bahadırlı and Karlı localities on the basis of Mugla and Çanakkale, West Anatolia surveys conducted between 2012-2016 years, and paleoanthropological results are evaluated in terms of human migration route.

The terms village and villager have always had an important place in the Russian social society. This interest showed a great increase especially during the period after World War 2. The reason for this is the need to reconstruct and strengthen after the war and to attempt to re-strengthen the understanding of the concepts of village and villager. The tendency to support this belief in all areas of literature and art attracts attention. Village Prose, which strengthened with these beliefs, is one of the most important literary periods in Soviet Russian literature. This literary period makes others well aware of its presence in literature between the years 1950-1980-(90). Topics such as the village being the source of life and culture, hardworking villagers, the purity of villagers and their unity took place in the first periods of village prose (1970-1990). However, in the second period (1970-1990), topics such as urbanization and nostalgic matters, past-present conflicts, and the differences in understandings between the young and older generations became more dominant. This paper will assess the past-present conflict that arose in the Russian society along with urbanization through villagers by giving examples from the short and long narratives of the most important representatives of village prose. V. Astafyev’s “Lyudochka”, V. Rasputin's “Farewell to Matyora”, S. P. Zaligin “Anya 100 Years Old Grandma” stories will be discussed. Our goal is to reveal the common perspective of the village prose of the writers on this subject. Sociological method this study will be made.

Mechanical philosophy was established by Descartes who thought that raelity was percepted not by insight but human mind. Thus, last scientific paradigm predicted the reality by cause and effect relationship, which was based on certainity and determinity (Erçetin, 2001). The paradigm also controlled organizational life and approached organizational dynamics in a certain and deterministic way. However, new changes shifting the globe from industrial to knowledge society, centralization to decentralization, hierarchical to network structures pave a way for evolutionary transformation based on the fact that knowledge is esoteric and phenomena changes in a complex dynamical processes. This transformation points out that complex systems shouln’t be approached in a certai and determinist way. In this study, complex adaptive leadership for school principals (CAL-SP) as a new paradigm was intended to analyze theoreticaly in connection with theory of complex adaptive leadership (CAL) conceptualized by Uhl-Bien, Marrion and McKelvey. As a conclusion, CAL promises a hope to be a holistic transformative theory which can meet changing perceptions of people and provide interactions.

Since he knows himself, he has always felt the need to tell something. This need emerged in different forms such as painting, poetry and literature and continued with cinema in the early 20th century. As a structure that covers all artistic disciplines, antagonism comes out in various forms in terms of cinema narrative. It is accepted many years ago that the cinema which is seen as an entertainment medium first has its own language structure. It has a classic narrative structure in these years, when it begins to tell a story apart from transferring it as if it is a cinema reality. Aristotle's description of reflective narrative follows different forms. Especially in the 1960s, with Brecht, a modern narrative structure based on alienation, as opposed to a narrative structure based on identification, appeared. Instead of the classical, demonstrator, or conventionally accepted Aristotlean narrative form in cinema, a narrative form based on the alienation effect emerged in these years. This form, led by Brecht, opposes identification and defends the active participation of the viewer. In the film "Funny Games" from Haneke's film samples, he applied this alienation effect in various forms. The film, which is named in terms of acting and story fiction, uses the elements of alienation to present the audience an excerpt of Brechtyen in addition to the classical narrative.

Today, the increase in the interest in gastronomy tourism has also increased the local people’s interest in their own regional cuisine culture and meals consisting of the cultural norms and values of that region. In today’s world where there exists such great a phenomenon as globalization, regional characteristics, values and habits, and mainly the local values should be conserved; they should be introduced to domestic and foreign tourists with activities carried out both nationwide and abroad; and values, norms, and meals belonging to regional cuisines should be protected. Within the activities concerning introducing and maintaining Turkish cuisine, introducing Turkish cuisine is being given great importance basing especially on regional meals. With regard to introducing and marketing “Pişmaniye”, which dates back to very past and is a regional dessert; its introduction should be given more emphasis with activities to be performed by government organizations and institutions and tourism enterprises; new regulations that would encourage investors to establish factories that are ideal for production, equipped with the latest technology and meet the required hygiene conditions should be brought in; and “pişmaniye” production should be maintained at a level to be exported to other countries abiding by the pre-determined standards. This study is a compilation prepared for introduction of ‘pişmaniye’ in the framework of Turkish culinary culture.

Islamic Aqidah is taught in general with the Risalis in the Muslim community. These trials are written from the first year to the present day. These treatises are usually written on Ash'arî and Maturidî denominations. However, there are also the Selefi Mezhebine's treatises. These treatises deal primarily with attributes, acts and prophets belonging to God, and other things about adjectives and semiyyat. Muhammad b. Aliş is a good example for the recent period studies. It is important for Aliş to transcribe the contemporary treatise of the Qur'an in the light of the verses of the Qur'an and to convey it to contemporary Turkish. In this context, we also aimed to convey the attitude of the Asharias. After the interpretation of the work and the views on the attributes of Ash'arri, the translation of the treatise "The Approach to the Qur'anic Delilah and the Sunni Aqidah" will be given at the end of the text.

From antiquity to present day mankind has felt the need to give various names to the animals and plants that are around them. They generally tried to match these names by the use of concrete terms in the nature (based on colour, shape, functionality, etc.). The emergence of Turkish names of plants is a process that starts with the first existence of language and continues until today. Thracian region, which is our research field, has been an important agricultural basin in all periods of history. It has also maintained its position as one of the world's most important regions in terms of forest tree texture. Both the eastern (Turkey Thrace) and the western (Greek and Bulgarian Thrace) parts of the region are similar in terms of vegetation and agricultural functionality. Naturally, the Turkish communities living in the region are parallel to this geographical similarity in terms of their use in language, plant names and vocabulary. In this study, there are both semantic and structural classifications of names used by Turks living in the Thrace region, even though they use the same language features richly within the borders of three different countries.

Taksim, at the beginning of “fasıl” phenomenon in Traditional Turkish Classical Music, is a type of improvisation which has specific rules and forms like as in Western Art Music and Jazz. Therefore, “taksim”, as an instrumental practice of which its’ performer is called “creator”, “master” and thus “musician”, is seen as a male dominated practice. This study focuses on gender differences existing in the performance of taksim practice and aims to reveal how the practice is effected by gender culture.
The change of thought and perception according to place and culture has shown that the world and its reality differ according to the definition of man by societies. Throughout history, East and West have been considered two different cultures or human societies in this sense. Different traditions, customs and also their practices in relation to cohabiting also are the features that make these societies different from each other. A person who separates himself from nature with analytical thinking system and takes it as something to be known and understood, belongs to the West; however the Easterner, lives in harmony with the nature, has a thinking system that regards him as a part of it and is mystical. The two different societies, namely the people of East and West, have also been separated in philosophical sense with their perceptual and intellectual differences in this context. These perceptual differences in their art and creation happened in different periods in time. Oriental artist, who was molded with the mystical teachings of the East, also effected the art of the West, both philosophically and formally. It is an undeniable fact that the West is inspired by the East and inspired many artists especially in the realization of 20. Century Western Art.

Governance is a theory of public administration that began to take effect in the discipline of public administration after the 1990s. It is a new reflection of new public administration based on neo-liberalism, which was effective in the 1980s. The concept of governance has an important place in democratization based on postmodern and critically public administration in the 1980s and especially after 1990s for the solution of public administration problems brought about by the classical public administration features such as centrality inherited from the Ottoman Empire to republic in the historical period in Turkey and the tradition of bureaucratic administration. In this study, it is suggested that the ombudsman is a governance practice by establishing a relationship between the concept of governance and the Turkish Public Auditing Institution (Ombudsman). From this perspective democratization reforms in public administration reached the summit with the establishment of an ombudsman which followed a stable line in Turkey in 2003.

Therefore in determining the size and mass of athletes legs, water flooding method or environmental measurements (frustum sign model) it is used. In particular, the frustum sign model can be calculated using the formulas of the frustum sign model by taking the necessary measurements from the athletes. Unlike the flood method, it does not require material. A new calculation program has been made using MS Excel program. The purpose of this study is to make the calculation of athletes leg circumference values in a very short period in the determination of the leg volume and mass of the athletes in different sports branches. As a result, this program, which can easily calculate the mass and mass of the leg, Anaerobic performance, hamstring / quadriceps ratio, isokinetic leg strength or muscle damage etc. Is a program that can be used in many ways.

For most audiences, music is a system that emanates from the musical experience and is the most important aspect of emotion and meaning (Sloboda, 1985). This emerging system may be a paradox with other systems. At this point we are trying to explain the relationship between eigenvalness and the cinematic symbiotics which we have considered as a subsystem in our system. The difficulty of explaining and exploring the concepts of emotion and meaning, which are the deep aspects of music practice, is also difficult to investigate in terms of music and emotion and meaning in cinema. Nevertheless, the research content has moved to explore the relationship between music and meaning within the film, and it has been accepted that this is a starting point. From the above, it can be said that the research focuses on the symbiotic relationship of cinema and music, ontology of music in film, its usability and its historicity. In addition, in the course of his research, Adorno, Eisler, and Prendergast have moved on film and music relations, taking Wernick's consideration of Erol's "Promotional Transfer" into the place of sound artists in the cinema as a substitute for the actors, , The role of the leading actor has been problematized and tried to be answered. Another aim and focus of the research is to add a new activity to the work done in our country related to cinema and music and to provide support for the literature to work on this field. Research has generally embraced historiography, moving from the origins of cinema and music to the present day and keeping it in order to shed light on the practices of film music in our country.

Poppy is an economically high-valued plant that has been cultivated particularly in Anatolia and in many regions. Medical science and various industry branches have benefited from poppy, and it has been understood that it was used as a political and economic argument in inter-state relations. Beginning from the foundation of Modern Republic of Turkey, legislative arrangements have been started to apply regarding the poppy and opium production. Since poppy and its by-products have opiat effect, the control of them have been maintained by the United Nations, therefore as a contracting state this situation has affected Turkey’s opium production policy. In 1960s, Turkey restrained the areas where the poppy is being cultivated precisely because of the American pressure. Then, in 1971 Turkey prohibited the poppy production completely. This prohibition lasted until 1974. In this article, the historical background regarding the prohibition of poppy cultivation with American pressure and after a while renouncing this ban has been evaluated.

Selection of an optimal supplier along the supply chain is strategically important for those companies that strive to match supply with demand. Multicriteria nature of the supplier selection problem enables the modelling of the problem by multicriteria decision-making methods. By taking into consideration the interaction between alternative suppliers and the criteria that effect the selection, this study provides background information about multicriteria decision making methods that support companies in decision-making processes. WASPAS (Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment) method is a relatively new and efficient multicriteria decision making method that integrates the basic multicriteria decision making methods of the Weighted Sum and Weighted Product models. This study introduces the theory of WASPAS, the solution of a supplier selection problem with this method and evaluates the comparative results.

This study deals with the political events that took place in Rize in 1930 when the transition to a multi-party system was experienced for the second time in the Republic of Turkey. After the establishment of the Free Republican Party (SCF), it started branching throughout the country. One of these branches was opened in Rize. The Rize branch of the SCF and experiences in the municipal elections in which two parties were candidates were mentioned in the study. The fact that the political life of the SCF was very short is the most important factor limiting the study. In this short period, the experiences in Rize during the municipal elections have important information regarding the history of Turkish democracy. The Republican People's Party (CHF) won the municipal elections held in Rize in 1930 and the SCF received a considerable amount of votes. However, the CHF was involved with many activities that would overshadow the election. After the closure of the SCF, the transition to a single-party system was experienced and some members of the SCF immediately aligned themselves with the CHF.

It is seen that ethnocentric inclined consumers primarily prefer local products. Factors which cause consumers to prefer local products can cause them to buy products produced in the city in which they live. Citizenship is defined as the relationship which exists among people who are born in the same country and who feel that they belong to the same place. It has been found that sometimes these relationships are used as a social identity. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between ethnocentrism and citizenship behaviors and to determine whether or not different buying styles have an effect on the tendency to buy products produced in Kayseri and buying behaviors. According to the research results, we obtain findings, which show that there are relations between consumers’ decision-making styles & tendencies to prefer goods that are produced in the place of residence to others and purchase behaviors. Also we reach to the conclusion that there are significant differences between tendencies to prefer goods that are produced in the place of residence in terms of consumers’ age and education states.

Opera is a form of musical theatre which emerged in sixteenth century in Europe. Opera works can be described as works of art that are composed mostly about epic or heroic stories. Opera, which can also be identified as musical drama (Drama per Musica) is an important art form by consisting various visual and audial elements in it. Especially in classical opera the role of singers is very important since opera is a form of art which reflects emotions and ideas through human voice. Because of this an opera singer is not a means of presenting a work of art but one of the key factors in actualizing it. As being a form of art which combines music with theatrical elements opera brings along both mental and physical struggles to singers before, during and after the performance. On the other hand, although singers have experienced those various difficulties, the musical and professional satisfactory of being an opera singer cannot be underestimated. This research’s main aim is to investigate those positive and negative factors that affect singers’ performances. Outcomes of this research will be beneficial for the ones who will choose opera singing as a profession in future. Singers of Giacomo PUCCINI’s “Tosca” opera which is staged by Samsun State Opera and Ballet in 2015-2016 season are the focus group of this study. In-depth interview technique is used as the method of the research. Questions of those interviews are mainly about singers’ preparation process to their performances. Aim of this study is to elaborate the phenomenon of performance in music by examining opera and opera singers.

This study aims at establishing a literature review on the indices used for measuring competitiveness with post-trade data by gathering different indices. Scope of our study includes the measurement methods used for assessing export competitiveness as well as the other methods used for measuring intra-industry trade, export and import concentration ratio and export similarity. Our approach is based on the methodology of scanning the primary resources of national and international studies. First attempt on measuring competitiveness with post-trade data was made by Liesner (1958) and he developed an indice for this purpose. Afterwards, Bela Balassa (1965) improved this indice using different indexes. As Balassa’s approach ignores imports and falls into error of double counting, Thomas L. Vollrath (1991) criticises Balassa’s indices and develops his indices. This study examines the different indices used for measuring competitiveness with post-trade exports and imports.

For this purpose, a survey was conducted among 1.058 students in the spring semester of 2015-2016.As a result of the study, it was determined that the lesson materials in accounting education are inadequate, the theoretical lessons are not sufficient and the physical environment conditions are not suitable for the practical exercises. Therefore, the students indicate that they would not be able to fulfil the job requirements after their education. However, if the opinions and view of students about the profession are considered, the majority think that being an accountant is a current, preferred and suitable for future career.
