Most contemporary philosophers of emotion ignore or neglect Thomas Aquinas views on emotions and directly cite Aristotle for support or to show their philosophical positions. However, although Aquinas’ views on virtues and emotions extensively follow Aristotle’s philosophy, he develops more sophisticated and detailed analysis of virtues and emotions. Summa Theologica, a masterpiece of medieval philosophy, is approximately a four-thousand page book and provides comprehensive interpretation of Aristotle’s philosophy. It also examines the ideas of many philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, Avicenna, Anselm, Augustinus, Damescene, Seneca and Cicero. In this paper, we examine Aquinas’ philosophy of emotion and its philosophical grounds. To do so, we first explain his views of soul in relation to his metaphysics. Within the framework of his conception of the soul, we shall explore his theory of emotion and try to show how he does apply his views in a particular emotion, that is, fear.

Although it is possible to bring up the first examples of metafiction from the time right after birth of novel, it became a remarkable technique, especially since the second half of the 20th century. There are certainly philosophical, socio-psychological factors underlying the spread of this technique among the authors. The damage in beliefs related to long narratives in postmodern area and the developments such as Einstein's relativity theory may be mentioned among these factors. The strategies of the metafiction technique that ignore or overcome the boundary between reality and fiction is seen in today's one of the important Turkish storytellers, Mustafa Kutlu’s works. In this article, it is aimed to reveal these elements and think over their relationship with contemporary metafiction of which the conceptual framework we tried to give here.

In this article, the intellection of Michel Foucault about art and artist, language and writing, representer and the represented has been studied in terms of various painters, writers and thinkers. We are witnessing that Foucault is trying to develop his own personal aesthetic and life art through the death of man, death of author and death of language, and that in this sense, Foucault's fascination with abstract artist and avant-garde art at every opportunity. His invitation for the artists to explore the bounds of their minds to create a new world, and even to go beyond the mind, and to mention that they can only talk about a writer function, not a literary field writer, are almost a sign of his battle against ordinary and monotonous in the field of art. Life and art can only be understood by their opponents. Opponents are complementary.

Ethical leadership is the ability to make ethical decisions, incorporate ethical values into the system structure, and build this system. Organizational cynicism is defined as the self- defence of members of the organization against troubled events in their working environments. Unethical perceptions of employees will affect the environment of trust in the organization. Cynical feelings cannot take shelter in organizations where there is trust whereas the number of cynics increases where there is distrust. Organizational cynicism is predicted to emerge with ineffective leadership.
It is uncertain whether Bacon had any idea about the stage that knowledge capitalism today when he stated that "knowledge is power". Yet, it could be said that knowledge is both a source of power and a threat to survival for contemporary universities. Universities have become centers of power due to their distinctive role in knowledge production and they also face with a transformation which contradicts with their traditional values. With this paradigm change in higher education, universities have to construct their identities and to define their missions again. In this regard emerging Multiversity/Entrepreneur University model has been subject to critics for its market oriented elements. Traditions and academic values make universities unique institutions, they also result in critics which regard universities as institutions against change. In current circumstances, it is clear that universities cannot survive with their traditional structure, yet the problem lies in the fact that how different value systems of market and academy will be integrated. This study follows this discussion lines and examines various dimensions regarding dynamics of change facing higher education today.

The increased unused derelict buildings in today's urban living conditions and their continued unresolved existence have already become a major problem in the whole world. The impact of these unused derelict buildings over urban conditions remains a disturbed subject in our era of architecture, urbanism and landscape architecture disciplines. The conservative and sustainability policies, which gradually increase their validity all over the world urban cities, are planned to apply for all types of urban fabric. In this case, the concentration of unused derelict buildings in urban living appears to be a clear inhibitory factor to these policies. With this in mind, the existence processes of derelict buildings, types, the causes of formation and the negative effects brought on urban fabric are analyzed and in this regard a number of solutions aimed at the improvement and corrections are required. Accordingly, subject analysis has been addressed with this approach. Derelict buildings, which are seen as an environmental problem, are evaluated with respect to architecture, urbanism and landscape architecture and solutions which are based on these evaluations are intended to be recommended. The solutions are discussed according to the existence processes of derelict buildings and the framework of typological classification which has been addressed in the beginning of this article. An overview and net results that arise from extensive researches are itemized at the end of the article.

When considering the power or the dominance of Justice And Development Party(JDP) today in Turkish political life and the fact that the founding elite has come from National view tradition the question of what kind of differences have been seen between JDP and National View comes to the fore. The first finding in this study has been that the JDP has not used the theme of “Fair Order” that was the thesis of the National View’s parties. Additionally there are some differences between two approaches within the context of the laicism. However the stretching in this ıssue has always started in National View parties with Virtue Party that was the last party of the National View parties before the founding of JDP. Another important issue that requires attention is that during the founding of JDP the party has opened its doors to the large masses with the aim of filling the political gap in the central right, however the National View parties could not have truly reached to the level to fill the gap in the central right. Again there is significantly difference of opinion in approach about the European Union. Besides it has been seen that the both parts have adopted different policies about the relations with the West.

The relations between modern Turkey, Russia and Iran have deep cultural, historical and religious roots, just these roots conditioned geopolicy in Eurasia and Near East. The invasive policy of Ottoman and Russia Empires caused to deepening of competition between them and occurrence of tens of wars along the Black Sea in the XVI – XX centuries. Ottomans supported the political wishes of Turkish and Muslim people residing in the Caucasus and Russia helped the Slavic and Christian minorities in Turkey to oppose the Ottoman dominion. After the World War I, following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, Vladimir Lenin assisted Ataturk in the Turkish revolutionary movement and the first relations between modern Turkey Republic and USSR had the nature of cooperation. The relations were colder during the cold war years. The claims of the Soviet Union about Black Sea straits were different under the governance of Stalin, following it, Turkey entered into NATO against the Communist expansion and comprised the South wing of the block. In the 1990s, the tension arose between the parties because of the actions of Russia in the Caucasus and "pan-turkist" policy of Ankara held on the area of former Soviet Union, as well as supporting the separator groups struggling against each other. Gradually, the security priorities were come to the fore, Russia directed its attention to the Islamist and separator movements held in the North Caucasus, Turkey tries to prevent the Kurdish terrorism, thus, both parties agreed to cease the support of the separators. This change became deepened together with the economic and energy relations established in the last years of the USSR, as well as the disappointment of both parties towards West demonstrated itself, afterwards, practical collaboration and historical approach inclinations emerged between Moscow and Ankara within the last decade.

Capital accumulation which is both precessor and result of industrial revolution – even can be seen as a paradox but explained by researchers like Marx- which had been feeled since 1700s, appeared in Turkey later and weaklier than Western Countries. Liberalisation which had been seen in Europe since 1970s gave Turkey a chance of integration with developed World economy, especially at the field of capital movement. This make centry-periphere relations more apparent. The main aim of this study is to analyze this weak and lated capital accumulation within the frame of centry-periphere analysis

Azerbaijan history is a very wide notion. At the present time, 20% of territory of Azerbaijan trampled, crumbled for thousand years is occupied by the Ar-menian invaders. Such historical processes as establishment, revival, devel-opment of independent Azerbaijan and other processes haven’t done harm to the national enlightenment process. Living under the conditions of war, con-flicts for many years, Azerbaijan has established its press, first theatre, first television and first music. Thus, a great page has been opened in the art of Azerbaijan. Our country revives in strides in every field and is glad for new successes and victories every day. One of them is television and its successes are evident. Currently, functioning, development of different channels makes us happy. Made of the combination of science and culture, television plays an exceptional role in the life of our people as of other peoples too. The role of the television in the history and development of Azerbaijan is undeniable. Rich experience gathered by television over many years is being developed today too. At present, television is not only mass meadia means, it is already an integral part of general culture system. It is the tool of assimilation, collection, reproduction and distribution of rich cultural resources of the past among wide masses. The importance of the cultural and artistic samples, i.e., of the literary and educational broadcasts is invaluable in bringing up of the aesthetic sense. All of them penetrate into the deepest, the finest areas of the human psychology, form the spiritual image of people, approach them to each other and enrich them ideologically. The progressive ideas in these broadcasts exert very strong emotional influence on all senses, consciousness and world out-look of people, arm them with advanced ideas, form their character and be-liefs, teach the people how to understand and change the world really. Every educational broadcast increases people's aesthetic values, brings up them mor-ally and spiritually and improves them. Generally, artistry and aestheticism are considered as one of the first laws of the television. Each broadcast must be aesthetically high in order to be watchable and sensitive, at the same time, to satisfy the taste of the audience. Developed, improved television shall have tones concerning the aesthetic event. Just therefore, the television is in the first place due to the potential of ideological impact on masses. Recently, the role of television has been increased in our Republic. Rise of the national culture and solution of social issues takes an important place here.

The concept of equality is mostly well known concept in social sciences and law, whereas it has a meaning of not discriminating any people in front of the laws. This study takes the concept of equality in the philosophical arguments of John Lock and Jean Jacques Rousseau. These two big thinkers played a crucial role in the development of philosophy and social sciences, as well as universal law understanding. Since the concept of the equality in those two thinkers represents the republican and liberal tradition, it gives an opportunity to compare the two big paradigms on the concept of equality. At the end of the study, the views of those two thinkers and paradigms were compared to each other on the basis of similarities and differences.
