Sustainability has been defined as the ability to be continuous, and it has emerged as green buildings that aim to be environmentally friendly and energy saving in architecture. The increase in the number of green buildings has brought with it the evaluation and rating of them. The pandemic in 2019 has caused us to understand the importance of green buildings and hospitals. Throughout history, hospitals have been structures that are used extensively and use a lot of energy due to the services they provide. In this context, it was considered important to design hospitals as sustainable buildings. Today, besides the new hospitals to be built, the transformation of existing hospitals into sustainable green buildings is supported by countries. Although there are many green building rating systems used in the world, it is the Australian Green Star Certification System that designs tools only to rate hospitals and supports the transformation of existing hospitals into sustainable green buildings. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine how existing health facilities can be transformed into sustainable structures. In accordance with the purpose of the study, three health structures with two different Green Star Certificates were selected with the renovation project of the existing structure in Australia. These structures are brought together with the evaluation parameters and sustainability features determined by the certification system. With the obtained data, statistical results were created with quantitative data, and evaluation tables were created with qualitative data and common inferences were made. At the end of the study, it was revealed that designing health buildings as sustainable green buildings quantitatively has benefits such as energy efficiency, reducing internal power and cost, less water consumption, and qualitatively reducing the recovery time of patients and staff efficiency.

Due to the fact that different societies begin to live together after voluntary or forced migrations, interactions occur in the cultures of societies willingly or unintentionally. These interactions show themselves most and rapidly in culinary cultures. Due to the civil war in Syria, an intense wave of migration has been coming to Turkey since 2011. With this study, it is aimed to determine the effects of Syrian immigrants on Turkish cuisine culture. Kahramanmaraş province, one of the significant migration destinations, constitutes the universe of the research. The participants of the study, which was carried out with the qualitative research method, were selected by the purposive sampling method. Within the scope of the study, a total of 42 participants, both Turkish and Syrian, were interviewed. As a result of the research, it has been determined that Syrian immigrants enjoy Turkish cuisine and even make changes in their own meals by being influenced. However, Turkish participants do not have sufficient knowledge and experience about Syrian cuisine and even they are prejudiced against Syrian food. To prevent this prejudice and to combine the two cuisines in a harmonious way, it is recommended to carry out studies within the scope of fusion cuisine.

The period between 1918-1939, which is called the Interwar Period, was a time of political and literary innovations and excitements for Poles. In Poland, which continued its existence as a free state until the Second World War for about twenty years, enthusiastic voices rose in the literary circles, especially in the first years of the period. The writers had no intention of uttering the word “captivity”, nor did the people, who wanted to forget their past, to hear it. After the first years of full of enthusiasm for freedom, the economic problems and power struggles brought the country into a turmoil. Some writers have reflected in their works that this chaotic environment will bring a new disaster and the doomsday is near. In this study, the first artistic steps of Czesław Miłosz, who started his literary life in this period, will be examined.

HOW TO INTERPRET THE EVOLUTION OF THE REPUBLICAN IDEA IN TURKEY AND ITS EXAMINATION WITH THE DEMOCRACY FOLLOWING THE CONSIDERATIONS OF S.M. LIPSET AND J.G.A. POCOCK?

The social-democratic constancy of the Republican People's Party (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi -CHP) in Turkey remotes to the 1970s, when its leader Bülent Ecevit launched for the first time the "left of center" movement whose main principles are based on the call for social justice, moderate state intervention in economic areas and encouragement of the private sector to be integrated in the name of the common national interest.None of these political activities were a source of incompatibility between the republican idea and democracy in the period following the Second World War during the period when the Keynesian economic system was effective in providing solutions to democratic demands. Indeed, democratic issues were acceptable to republican ideals which place a crucial role in the equal opportunity of all citizens before the law. As a result, the CHP, which developed a left-wing discourse through income redistribution until the 1980s, since then began to experience difficulties in making revisions to the social democratic vision. While the economic development model, which is one of the prerequisites of democracy in terms of political development, put forward by Lipset, was sufficient to meet the democratic demands in the period when Keynesian policies were valid, it was insufficient to produce innovative social democratic answers in the face of the new trend ethnic and religious demands of the changing global world. Republican thought will have to question and challenge itself when it passes from the stage to the cultural stage. This phenomenon has turned into a test that most of the social democratic parties in the world have difficulty in passing. The study aims to open up for discussion the argument that the republican thought, in the example of CHP in Turkey, feels this tension and intellectually embodies it.

The paintings attributed to Siyah Qalam are the most remarkable examples of Central Asian art, as they carry mysteries that have not yet been clarified and are open to research from different aspects. In the light of today's findings, it is thought that these paintings, which are dated to the last quarter of the 14th century and the beginning of the 15th century, were made in the Turkestan region, which is an important crossroad of the Silk Road. The Silk Road, beyond being just a trade route for centuries, is a fertile geography where culture and art were transported, and artistic ideas were mutually examined and developed. The period which is accepted as the date of the emergence of the Siyah Qalam paintings, is located within the borders of the Late Middle Ages/Early Modern Period, when the strict traditions in the Eastern depiction art, represented by both Western and Chinese civilization, were exhausted and a new language was sought. In the research, in the light of visual examples, the frame of the closeness and interaction of the paintings attributed to Siyah Qalam with contemporary Western and Chinese art has been tried to be determined, and examples of human and animal depictions depicting daily life selected from Siyah Qalam were made in the same time period in parallel and in terms of subject matter. Samples selected from recent Chinese and Western art were scanned and examined in terms of anatomical proportions, understanding of color, line values, size (light/shadow) and stylization. After the examination of the samples and the evaluation of the findings, although traces of these interactions can be seen in the paintings attributed to Siyah Qalam, it was concluded that a unique perspective and way of interpreting the subjects were observed.

Although the reflection of everyday life on the work of art has a very ordinary theoretical subtext for today, it is not possible to come across an objective equivalent of this concept, especially in medieval Europe. Saying that there is no practice other than religious thinking that permeates every aspect of life is another way of saying that medieval theology was embodied in life. Therefore, when considering the reflection of cultural-economic-or sociological and demographic variables on art in the pre-modern period, it is inevitable to look at it from the perspective of religious thinking under a main heading that categorizes these elements. Transformations in religious thinking that occurred in connection with the plague epidemic, which created a major break in European history, and the reflection of these transformations on the art of sculpture constitute the focus of the study. The research, which aims to present a perspective from the past to the discussions of daily life and art in the epidemic process we are in, aims to explain the intersections of the notion of 'ugly', which aesthetics and philosophy of art do not emphasize much, and the field of representation of ideology through the body. The study, which deals with the comparison of ancient Greece and medieval Europe, examines the sculpture art of both historical periods, but especially concentrates on Christian European art. In this parallel, the concept of "ugly and mortal sculpture" has been problematized over the subtext of "beautiful body and ugly body".

The subject of this study is 45 ceramic vessel fragments found in the Amorium excavations. The ceramic pot fragments in question were discovered in 2022 in the Upper City Inner Wall and Upper City Basilica B areas of the city. Based on the paste, slip, glaze and construction techniques, the finds, which were handled in three groups as monochromatic glazed, sgraffito and slip techniques, were dated by considering both the areas they were found and similar examples in Anatolia. The finds unearthed in both areas exhibit similar characteristics with ceramic pot sherds found and published in previous studies in the Amorium excavations. Studies on the Amorium City reveal that the Byzantine rule of the city ended after the 11th century and a Turkish-Islamic settlement started in the city after this date. The glazed pottery finds found during the excavations are important in terms of giving clues about the quality of this settlement. In addition, the aforementioned finds are also important in terms of contributing to the studies on the production and commercial circulation of the Late Byzantine, Principalities and Early Ottoman periods in Central Anatolia.

Audio content analysis is a research field that comprises diverse research approaches to carry on music information retrieval studies. This field primarily benefits from sound recognition literature and proceeds as an interdisciplinary research field that brings together engineering and music. However, audio content analysis following an engineering perspective it makes harder to be applied by music researchers. The aim of this study is to provide basic information about audio features to music researchers by showing how the audio features vary among different sound sources. In this study, after giving the fundamental concepts of digital signal, presentations of the signal (waveform and spectrogram), audio features, and audio feature presentations in time and frequency domains were demonstrated. Besides the temporal (zero crossing rate, RMS energy, energy entropy) and spectral (spectral centroid, spectral spread, spectral entropy, spectral flux, spectral roll-off, MFCC, chroma vector) features, harmonic ratio and pitch features are also explained. These temporal and spectral features were analyzed and compared one by one with five seconds excerpts that were taken from four audio tracks (acoustic guitar, drum set, bass, and vocal). Results of individual audio features for the audio files are given in graphics for interpretation. As a result, it is observed that the utilization of zero crossing rate, RMS energy, spectral centroid, spectral entropy, spectral roll-off, and MFCC audio features provide a foundation to successfully estimate different audio sources such as the available audio files in this study’s scope and limitations.

Socio-economic status has a significant effect on the utilization of the opportunities within one’s cultural environment. Individuals with low socio-economic status benefit less from these opportunities as compared to other socio-economic strata, which limits their effective participation in the functioning of the society. These circumstances negatively affect the individual’s psychological well-being. In this context, it is critical for individuals with low socio-economic status to have access to and benefit from psychological support services. This study was conducted to examine the lower socio-economic strata within a multicultural psychological counseling approach. In this research, information on the conceptual framing of socio-economic status, poverty and disadvantaged groups was collected, together with statistical information on poverty rates in the world and in Turkey. The effect of socio-economic status on the selection of members for group counseling, the ethical rules related to sensitivity to cultural differences, the relationship between the counselor and the client, and multicultural psychological counseling competencies were discussed. The views presented in the article are supported by findings from the research. This research is a review of national and international literature.

This study investigated how the Covid-19 epidemic affects public relations activities in private and public hospitals by examining social media tools. This qualitative research was designed in the case analysis and content analysis was used in the data analysis. Eight hospitals, four private and four public, were included in the study. To compare the public relations activities between the pre-pandemic period and the pandemic period, social media (Twitter and Instagram) data from different periods of 2019 and 2020 were accessed and analyzed. The data obtained are explained under the title of introduction and scope, public relations in health institutions, social media as a public relations tool, findings, and discussion & conclusion. The findings showed that private health institutions gave more importance to public relations activities by turning the crisis into an opportunity during the pandemic period, and they carry out many activities related to Covid-19. Although there has been some change in public hospitals, public relations activities were performed less than in private hospitals. When the shares of the hospitals included in the study are examined in the specified periods, they continue to use social media more actively as a public relations tool in general. It is predicted that the use of social media in public relations, which gained momentum with the Covid-19 pandemic, will no longer lose its power, and will continue to increase, even if the epidemic disappears completely.Public relations activities, which gain more importance daily, occupy a very important place in terms of managing crises in unexpected situations such as pandemics and disasters. In this context, it is necessary to give more importance to public relations activities to overcome these situations better and to get out of crisis situations better and stronger.

Ceramics has been a material that has been shaped by different methods throughout human history and produced to be glazed or unglazed. The story of ceramics began in the 6000s in Anatolia in the Hacılar region. Ceramics, which are used in many areas, are also used as table ceramics. Ceramics, which were produced in monochrome in the beginnings, have taken their place in human life in multicolored, thin, light and different forms over time. Together with the surface designs applied on the forms, cultural elements and social expectations were reflected in these designs. Ceramics, which have many uses in the industrial field, allow more than one form to be produced in the table ceramics sector. The history of ceramics, which dates back thousands of years, has managed to reach the present day with many different shaping methods after the industrial revolution after the 18th century. The abstract expressionism movement that emerged at the end of the 19th century after the industrial revolution has become a method of self-expression of artists against the great changes in social life, human life and world politics. As a result of the industrial age and the events experienced in this period pushing people to different thoughts and isolating themselves, the foundations of the abstract expressionism movement were laid. Another art movement influenced by the abstract expressionism movement is the art of ceramics. Ceramic forms produced by traditional methods have gained a different dimension with the applications of deforming and asymmetrical form creation with this trend. As a result of the effect of deformation on the form, abstract expressionism was used in ceramic art. As in the art of ceramics, the abstract expressionism movement was also referred to in the table ceramic products produced in the industrial field.Within the scope of this research, it was determined that deformation and asymmetrical forms were designed in ceramic tableware productions in the world and in Turkey. As a result of the examinations, 5 food sets from 3 Turkey were analyzed.

The piano is a basic instrument in music education; It also contributes to the use of practical and theoretical elements such as musical hearing, harmony and accompaniment. In piano education, the priority is solo performances, but the activities in which the piano is used as an accompaniment instrument and four-hand exercises, which gain the habit of making collective music, also have a very important place. In the piano literature, it is possible to come across works that were originally written for the four-handed piano, as well as works adapted from a solo piano for a four-handed piano and even adapted for a four-handed piano from another instrument. In this research, it is aimed to reveal the opinions of piano educators regarding the four-handed piano teaching. Data were obtained through literature review and interview. The sample of the research; It consists of 6 (six) piano instructors working in Gazi University, Gazi Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Education Department. To the teaching staff; A total of 10 questions were asked, 2 of which were about personal information and 8 of them were about the subject of the article. The data obtained from the interviews using the “Zoom” program were analyzed and evaluated by content analysis method. The research is a descriptive study based on due diligence in the general survey model. As a result of the research; four-handed piano teaching provides the development of musical skills, provides the opportunity to play together, a different time period should be allocated for four-hand piano teaching, the instructors should allocate time for these studies in the lesson, the national four-hand piano materials are not sufficient in terms of quantity and quality, and it has been revealed that studies should be done in this area, universal methods are sufficient in number, they develop musicality and sense of rhythm, improve their playing skills, and students learn to play together in harmony, and adaptive pieces should be included.
