And then the main elements of Koran courses teaching programme were explained.nIn the firs part of our study, information about our samples was given and in the second part, through the hypothesis of this study, the answers of our samples in the Koran courses in the cities and towns of region of lakes examined and evaluated as to the hafizlık teaching programme. The following results were deduced.nAccording to the teachers who help students to learn the Koran by heart, Hafızlık teaching programme is enough to help students learn the Koran by heart. However, the Koran courses can’t reach this goal as quantity and quality, nowadays because of some problems to put intoapplication. The teachers pointed out that, together with the professional lessons, music, harmony, meaning-inter predation lessons must be in the curriculum; Hafızlık teaching programme by computer is an efficient method; in spite of the factors effecting the motivation of students in a negative way, must be to motivate the students by some methods; regarding to professional information, they are enough but not enough regarding to their pedagogical formation; for that reason some of the teachers can’t guide the students; they do their best to discipline the students inside and outside the Koran courses; the Koran courses have enough education materials and these materials are used efficiently by teachers; the buildings of Koran courses qualified enough for the students who learn the Koran by heart. On the other hand emphasized that people living around the Koran courses have positive feelings toward these institutions; the protectors of students have lack of dialogue with the Koran courses; the Hafızlık exam is objective and reliable as measurement andevaluation.

The Ottoman Empire was a dominant power for three centuries under a strong financial structure based on agriculture, reached high standards with its traditional production, continued its life in socio-economic and cultural terms, and contained different ethnic origins within itself. With the 18th century, the industrialization of the West and the inability to keep up with this industrialization and the preservation of the primitive structure were the reasons for the backwardness of the Ottoman country. In addition, the country's economy experienced deterioration and the country become an open market. The loss of sovereignty rights as a result of the effects of the Industrial Revolution, wars and capitulations, and the inadequacy of the population, seeds and equipment in the agricultural arable land also dragged the country into a dead end. The state, which was in economic trouble, could not meet the war expenses and preferred the way of borrowing. The Ottoman Empire collapsed due to various internal and external troubles and fatigue, wars and being out of industrialization. The new Turkey took over the degraded socio-economic and cultural structure that it inherited, and made a great effort and made breakthroughs to bring this inherited socio-economic and cultural structure to the level of contemporary civilizations. In the research, the economic predicament that the Ottoman Empire fell into in the direction of political and military developments since the second half of the 19th century was handled, and archive documents and copyright-reviewed works were used.

Increasing population with our developing world and technologies, globalization and increasing needs related to these increase structuring. With the increase in construction, the existing resources are decreasing and the natural environment is damaged. Solutions are offered to these problems arising in construction with the understanding of sustainable design. There are also some certification systems developed to ensure that the designed structures are sustainable. LEED, one of these certification systems, grants certificates by evaluating the structures according to the accepted common standards. However, beyond the sustainable design of the buildings, it is necessary to gain this awareness in the society and to raise the awareness of the protection of the life resources of future generations. One of the basic structures in which this awareness can be achieved is educational buildings. Within the scope of the study, primary and secondary education structures that received LEED certification were scanned and examined one by one and it was seen that the most LEED certified education structure was found in the United States. Then, the primary and secondary education structures in the United States that received LEED certification were analyzed by creating numerical data charts according to the determined assessment titles. As a result of the analyzed data, education structures that received platinum certification from LEED certification degrees in the United States were determined as the study area. The aim of the study is to analyze the concept of sustainability in LEED platinum certified primary and secondary education buildings in terms of sample projects and sustainability evaluation principles. The study examines educational buildings with high scores in line with LEED platinum certification, designed to approve exemplary development projects that perform well in terms of green building. In this direction, the study has been structured in 6 stages. A total of 45 platinum-certified educational buildings in the United States were scanned, and "5" primary and secondary education buildings were selected, with the most information and visuals available within the scope of sustainability. The selected training structures were examined over the LEED platinum certificate evaluation headings and a general analysis table was created. As a result of the study, it has been seen that the decisions taken by the educational buildings in the USA in accordance with the principles of sustainability in many parameters such as water, energy, ventilation and material resources can be an important factor in both sustainability and the formation of the awareness of protecting the natural environment in students.

Caryl Churchill is one of Britain’s most prominent and talented contemporary playwrights. Since the 1960s, the author has published thirty plays dealing with a wide variety of subjects from political matters to gender issues and ecological problems. Amongst the many issues and social problems of Churchill’s dramatic oeuvre, natural concerns and environmental catastrophes stand out as the dramatist displays significant awareness towards issues concerning the destruction of nature. To that end, particular themes related to the Anthropocene and Capitalocene come forward in Churchill’s ecological plays. Briefly defined as the era of observable human impact on Earth, the Anthropocene was coined in 2000 and reformulated by scholars various times. The most notable reinterpretation of the Anthropocene resulted in the coining of the Capitalocene which argues that this epoch was largely shaped by the detrimental effects of capitalism on the human society and naturally, on Earth as a whole. This article’s main purpose is to expose specific depictions of the Capitalocene in Churchill’s <em>Not not not not not enough oxygen</em> and <em>Far Away</em> to reveal why and how these depictions are presented in the author’s plays. Therefore, the study demonstrates Churchill’s theatre as a theatre of the Anthropocene and reveals the dramatist’s critique of capitalism in order to raise awareness towards environmental issues in the British society and public opinion.

When considering the densities and workloads of academic staff, those considered as hybrid managers in management positions in addition to their fundamental duties, they confront business blindness in both individual (managerial blindness) and organizational (silo syndrome) contexts. The study aims to explain whether academic staff working as hybrid managers in academia experience business blindness in an individual and organizational context. In this context, the conceptual framework of business blindness was created by considering individual (managerial blindness) and organizational (silo syndrome) aspects. We had interviews with the academic staff, with structured questionnaires on business blindness, to support this conceptual framework. The precautions required to be taken to prevent business blindness are discussed in an individual and organizational context. Precautions necessary to take in the individual context are supposed to be fall in love with change, open for inspection, have good relations with the environment, attach importance to the thoughts and ideas of the employees, and avoid excessive prescriptiveness. The measures to be taken in the organizational context are to have a participatory management approach, if there is a conflict in the organization, it should be eliminated and the purpose, mission, and vision of the organization should be adopted by the employees. In academia, it is thought that hybrid managers face more business blindness than other managers. In conclusion, the creation of a good team to share the workload of the managers in academic units and the open communication channels will prevent business blindness. Thus, academic staff who are hybrid managers will prevent them from moving away from and breaking up with their professional identities.

The emergence and development of the cartoon genre in Azerbaijan is associated with the publication of works by graphic artist Azim Azimzade (1880-1943) in the magazine Molla Nasreddin. The artist drew satirical cartoons of a critical nature. Azim Azimzade was born in Baku. In 1920, he founded the Azerbaijan Art College named after A.Azimzade. The purpose of the article is to study the contribution of special approaches in Azimzade's work to Azerbaijani art criticism on the basis of his works. From the point of view of spatial thinking, Azim Azimzadeh's creativity, the world of color is studied on the basis of scientific-logical-geometric rules. On the basis of the artist's works, he approaches the filling of colors, shapes, and surfaces from the point of view of spatial thinking, and his scientific significance is logically substantiated. In Azim Azimzadeh's art and creativity, geometric approaches based on mathematical laws show that human creativity cannot show the essence of works without relying on science. The artist's work can be considered as a mirror that reflects the realities of his time and society.

Shipyards, marine production and repair industry is directly related to many business lines globally, and it also has a large volume in terms of the workforce potential it provides directly. In 2018, the shipbuilding capacity of the shipyards in our country was over eight million two hundred tons, and the number of employees at that time was around 24 thousand. Especially steel; Industrial branches such as machinery, electricity-electronics, paint and air conditioning are the main components of the shipbuilding industry. This situation necessitates a lot of work to be done at the same time and a crowded working environment in the shipyards. The large employment volume created by the shipbuilding industry related to many sectors brings with it some problems. Liabilities determined in terms of time and contracts in the commercial sense in the shipyards can create pressure on employers and employees, cause disruption of occupational health and safety controls, and lead to occupational accidents with injury and death. In the new shipbuilding and repair and maintenance projects, many work with a great danger potential in the work processes have caused many work accidents. This situation attracts attention by creating a lot of agenda in the media. The aim of this study is to analyze the danger elements of the working environments in closed and open areas where occupational accidents occur in shipyards, especially in ship production processes, in terms of occupational health and safety. Occupational accidents occurring in these areas are not limited to the region where the accident occurred, but have the potential to affect a wide area. For this reason, in this study, it has been tried to evaluate the dangerous situations and behaviors in indoor and outdoor environments by determining the risks and the measures to be taken accordingly, in terms of occupational accidents and legislation.

Our process of entering and developing the cultural influence of European civilization, which started in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, still continues. In this process, signs of Europeanization are seen in institutional structures and cultural texture. Ottoman; Philosophy, geography, literature and scientific works were being read in European languages at the beginning. However, since not every individual has the opportunity to learn a second or third language, the translation of works in foreign languages, the aim of reaching more readers, also revealed a new field. In particular, the need for young researchers and students to access philosophy, geography, literature and scientific works written in European languages was met by translation done by corporate or private printers. Translation works effectively took their place as an important field in the Ottoman renewal. Of course, as in the whole field, in the renewal of Turkish literature, the guidance of translated works becomes the leader of change. Thus, translation has a great impact on almost all literary genres. The developments and translation that started with the Tanzimat in Turkish literature brought many innovations and intellectual types. In our study, there are opinions and findings regarding translation and translated works in the literary memoirs of the 1860-1912 period. The point of view of the literati on the translation activities that are effective in the development process of Turkish literature has been examined.

THE REFLECTION OF JUDAISM AND JEWISH MUSIC ON ERNEST BLOCH’S SUITE HÉBRAÏQUE TITLED PIECE

In this study, one of Ernest Bloch's works titled Suite Hébraïque, which is one of the works with religious themes and in which the viola is at the forefront, has been examined from the perspective of a viola performer. The aim of the study is to contribute to the correct interpretation of Suite Hébraïque, one of the cornerstones of the viola repertoire, by the performers. Like all artists, composers are also affected by the socio-economic, socio-cultural elements of the society they were born into. For this reason, understanding the stories and intellectual contents of the works conveyed by the composer with musical writing is important for the correct interpretation of the works. Ernest Bloch, who defines himself as a composer, thinker and humanist, was born in Geneva in 1880. Bloch's grandfather was the leader of the Jewish community of a canton in Switzerland. Despite being the son of a non-conservative family, religion has been a permanent part of the Bloch family's life. When Ernest Bloch's life as a composer, who spent his life between Europe and America, is examined in terms of the development of his character and the geographies he lived in, it consists of five different parts. These are respectively; I. Student Period (1895-1900), II. First European Period (1911-1916), III. First American Period (1917-1930), IV. Second European Period (1930-1938) and V. Second American Period (1939-1959). In order to understand and perform the piece as Bloch composed, it is important to examine the environment in which the piece was written, the composer's notes on the piece, the melody and rhythmic elements he used, the musical terms and the colors these terms add to the piece, and its rhythmic form. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the performer in terms of filling the gap in the literature.

The field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language has undergone significant transformations in recent years in terms of catching up with international standards. Material design, qualified content and activities, curriculum, and visual preference are also subtitles of this transformation. Visuals are one of the important actors of the teaching process both in terms of cognitive and physical aspects. The permanence, use and efficiency of the information learned through visuals increase. In the visuals used in the materials, these qualities affect all the factors of the process. Naturally, the nature and usefulness of the images used in the materials is an important research topic. In this study, in which the qualitative research method was adopted, in the process of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, by TÖMER institutions in Turkey; The frequencies and functions of the visuals included in the set of Journey to Turkish, which is used by the Maarif Foundation abroad, for teaching Turkish as a foreign language were examined. The visuals constituting the data of the research were collected by document analysis; analyzed by content analysis in terms of functions. Images are categorized in terms of their functions under 5 titles as decorational, representational, organizational, interpretational, and transformational. Based on the data obtained, it was determined that while the visuals with a representational, function in the materials were dominant, visuals with a decorative function followed. It has been de-termined that visuals with interpretational, transformative and organizational functions are almost never used in the materials. In terms of cognitive processes, not using or using very little visuals with transformative and organizational functions that positively affect the learning process of the target audience, shorten the recall process, and increase the permanence of information is considered as a negative situation in terms of material efficiency.

Speaking is a language skill that enables the individual to verbally convey his feelings and thoughts. A public speech affects the speaker more than daily conversations. The elements that the speaker is affected before and during the speech become more distinctive when he or she is in front of the public. Although these factors are effective on all age groups, it is important to research and develop this subject by starting from secondary school. The purpose of this study is to determine the elements that affect the students while speaking in front of the community. Qualitative research design was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of fifteen students. The interview form was used to collect the data and affectively, physically and cognitively categorized questions asked equally to the students. Content analysis was carried out by examining the answers for the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that 80% of secondary school students are willing to speak in front of the public, and 80% see themselves as self-confident. When it has been determined that the people in the community had a 93.3% effect on speech, it has been seen that the students were influenced by their friends at a rate of 40.9% and by their families at a rate of 31.8%.
Cities that show continuous development maintain their growth potential rapidly due to the increase in their population in recent years. Increasing built areas are thought to have negative effects on both urban nature and human health. Due to the increase in the population of cities, urban recreation areas are decreasing due to the growth of built areas. On the other hand, the population trying to keep up with the intense tempo of the cities needs recreation areas in terms of social and psychological aspects. Despite all the negative conditions experienced even for a short time, the people living in the city visit these places for resting purposes. For this reason, while adding new ones to existing urban recreation areas, the spatial quality of these areas should be increased. One of the cities where recreational areas are becoming more valuable for both the city and the citizens is the city of Çankırı, which is growing day by day as it is all over the world. For this reason, it is important to determine and increase the spatial quality of the recreation areas in the city. Within the scope of this study, four recreational areas, which are used extensively by users in the city center of Çankırı, were examined. A questionnaire for user experiences was prepared and the data were analyzed on a likert-type scale using the SPSS 24.0 program. Frequency, percentage distribution, arithmetic mean and standard deviation were used in the evaluation of the data. Evaluated survey data were considered as neutral, weak and strong points; How neutrals and weaknesses can be improved is discussed. As a result, with this study carried out on the province of Çankırı, a case study was created on the determination of spatial quality for urban recreation areas; Suggestions have been developed to increase the spatial quality of existing recreational areas.

The aim of the research is to target positive and economic growth in order to improve work accidents and work accidents by measuring the target and perceptions of the positive course of the climate. The universe of the research consists of employees who will be determined among private sector employees who manufacture machinery and equipment, manufacture of chemical products, manufacture of furniture and textile products in seven geographical regions of Turkey. With the simple sampling method, samples were taken from a total of 1583 employees, including 390 participants from the machinery and equipment manufacturing business, 406 participants from the chemical products manufacturing business, 393 participants from the textile products manufacturing business, and 394 participants from the furniture manufacturing business line. Workers in different industrial establishments may differ in their perceptions and attitudes to the safety climate. Therefore, valid surveys used in the current scientific literature may not be suitable for measuring the safety climate among manufacturing sector workers. The scale developed by Si-Hao Lin et al. (2007) used in this research measures the perception of safety climate in industrial environments; consciousness, competence, security communication, organizational environment, management support, risk assessment, security measures, and security training with a 21-item questionnaire consisting of seven factors. It was preferred that the scale used differs from the existing safety climate scales, especially in terms of security awareness and competence, safety communication and security measures, and that it is a scale prepared for the manufacturing sector employees, with the idea that it will allow a more accurate assessment of the security perception of the employees of this sector. In order to evaluate the data obtained in our study, frequency analysis, normality test, factor analysis, and multiple analysis of variance (MANOVA) were performed to compare the difference in safety climate scores. As a result, it has been found that the evaluations of the employees regarding the safety climate differ by at least one of the sub-factors of the safety climate scale according to age groups, accident or near-miss incidents and their experiences.

Kınalızâde’s political thought is based on morality. According to him, the need for socialization of people necessitates the state. The importance of the rulers and their administration style is great in ensuring the continuity of the state. Because people are affected by the attitudes and behaviors of those who govern them. Therefore, for a good social order, rulers must be virtuous and moral. A virtuous ruler should set an example for his people and strive to raise their morals. In order to establish justice in society, he should treat people equally, treat everyone according to their merits and abilities, and observe justice in kindness and help. In addition, the ruler of the state should love his people as a father loves his child; should treat them with kindness and compassion. On the other hand, the people should obey their rulers wholeheartedly within the framework of respect and love, just as they do towards the father of the child. They should behave in accordance with the manners of service towards them. This is very important for the continuity of the state. In this context, Kınalızâde’s thoughts on the importance and necessity of moral values such as justice, love and respect in the relationships between the ruler and the ruled for a good social order and the survival of the state was evaluated in this study.

Modernity has emerged in the West with technological developments, urbanization, new consumption habits, class differences and the transition to a capitalist social order. In addition to all these developments, modern states have used information as a power over trandition societies with the invention of the printing press. In the study, the emergence of economic, scientific, cultural and artistic revolutions such as the Renaissance, reform and Enlightenment in the west in the process of Western modernity is mentioned. With the Industrial Revolution, the birth of the bourgeois class and the transition phases of the West to the modern social order are included. It has been emphasized that in the process where the West created modernity, cultural and artistic activities also progressed in parallel with modernity. The conceptual framework of the study is based on the clarification of the distinctions between the concepts of ‘modernity’ and ‘modernization’. The modern West and Turkey, a new state that could not build modernity on its own cultural identiy, were compared. It has been pointed out that Turkey is a modernization society and that the preconditions such as the industrial revolution, capitalist production and consumption habits, and the bourgeois class are tried to be created by state incentives for the construction of a modern society. It has been argued that as a result of the creation of these prerequisites by the state, some disruptions may occur. The main objective of the study is to examine the relationship between the modernization policies of Turkey and culture/art. In this context, it is understood that Early Republican Turkey wanted to shape many values, cultures, arts and designs in line with its own views. In the study, it was emphasized that the posters, which are a powerful medium in terms of being easily accessible to all segments of the society, are frequently used for these purposes, and the poster desing of İhap Hulusi Görey named ‘Citizen’ is discussed as an example. It has been concluded that the ‘Citizen’ poster, interpreted with the method of document analysis, celarly expresses some of the controversial policies undurlying the modernization project of the Republic.
