Abstract

Abstract

Dyslexia is a reading disorder characterized by persistent difficulty in word recognition, reading, and writing skills in children, although they have average or higher academic performance in other areas and there is no problem with their senses. Given that 20 percent of the general population is found to have some form of dyslexia, it is likely that most music teachers will have dyslexic students during their teaching careers. Because dyslexia is more common than many educators think. The purpose of this article is to provide a brief overview of dyslexia and to provide teaching strategies that can assist music teachers in planning and implementing music education for dyslexic students. Multisensory teaching method is defined as a way to interact with dyslexic students in the course. Therefore, it is recommended to use melodic and rhythmic activities created in a multi-dimensional way in the music classes and to teach music by appealing to many senses of the child.
