Abstract

Financial events, especially taxes, have significant effects on people or social groups. The agricultural sector was the sector that affected the growth of the Ottoman economy in the century. Specialization in the production and export of agricultural products in the process of integration with the world economy brought the use of modern machinery and techniques to Ottoman agriculture. Despite all these efforts in Ottoman agriculture, the spread and usage area of modern machines remained very limited. In this study, it is aimed to give information about the changing agricultural policies in the Middle East geography that the Ottoman Empire had to withdraw at the end of the First Sharing War and the consequences of this situation.
