Abstract

Among the literary genres, the novel is one of the works closest to reality. Novel is the works that describe the events that have happened or are likely to be experienced in time, place and person. Of the many genres, the closest to reality is the type of myth. This research aims to identify the similarities of life between Albert Camus's "Plague" and "Coronavirus" and to examine how various levels shape social life with conceptual analysis and themes. In other words, the current research will tend to prove that what happened in the fictional plague novel coincides with the reality of the corona virus reality in the world. The sample of the research consists of Plague novel and Corona virus news and news analysis in national and international visual and print media. The data obtained were analyzed and interpreted through descriptive and content analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. The research reveals that the language of the outbreaks is the same, although their time, location, and conditions are different. It is determined that what happened in the plague novel of Albert Camus and what happened in Corona virus epidemic coincided to a great extent. Only the type of viruses, time, people and places differ. Furthermore, the suffering is the same. Beyond being a novel, this similarity transforms Camus' work into a research and analysis work. Of course, as the plague virus ends, the Corona virus will one day end, but disaster or evil will remain a reality. The greatest proof of his reality is disastrous.
