Abstract

Art is a special process in which emotion and thought are transferred to any form and gained a new existence. The artist is influenced by all the socio-economic and cultural elements in the environment in which she/he lives and is reflected from the artist’s creativity perspective by adding her/his individual life. All these phenomen a that change social life styles such as globalization, consumer culture, identity concept, problem of belonging, alienation, pain concept (individual and social) and scientific-technological developments constitute the characteristic structure of the awareness process of the 21st century. When evaluated from this point of view, the familiar meanings for the perception of the space by the artist or the viewer have completely changed and become open to discussion. The artists perform site-specific/ original structural analyzes with their new intelectual Dynamics in different materials and non-repetitive forms. Within the scope of this mutual interaction between artist, space and audience, this study; in terms of contemporary art practices, this changing perception of space is addresses by Eduardo Chillida, Sacha Sosno, Paul Cummins-Tom Piper, Emmanuelle Moureaux and Refik Anadol. In the study, the placement of these artists in the space and their relationship with the audience were evaluated by reading the methodical/ artistic approaches through their selected works.
