Abstract
“Camiye, kışlaya, okula siyaset sokulmamalı” söylemi, Türk siyasi hayatında “motto” olmuş bir ifadedir. Bu ifadenin kıymeti harbîyesi, Osmanlı’nın derin tarihinde yatmaktadır. Türk siyasi hayatında yaşanmış olan olumsuz tecrübeler ve bunların yıkıcı sonuçları, üç kıtada hüküm sürmüş bir imparatorluğun dağılma sürecini hızlandırarak adeta bir katalizör görevi görmüştür. Zamanla siyasallaşmaya başlayan Yeniçeri Ocağı ve müteakip dönemde ordu içinde aynı zihniyeti taşıyan uzantıları, taleplerini siyasete müdahaleye başvuracak kadar ileri bir seviyeye getirmiştir. Osmanlı ordu mensuplarının asıl görevi olan “talim ve terbiye”, milletinin hizmetinde harp etmek vazifesini ihmal etmesi büyük bir imparatorluğun yok olmasına neden olmuştur. 20.Yüzyılın hemen başında Osmanlı ordu mensuplarının siyasetle iştigalinin tahrip edici sonuçlarının yaşandığı en güzel örnek ise Balkan Savaşlarıdır.

Abstract
“Politics should not be introduced into Mosques, military barracks, school” is an espressivon that has been the motto in Turkish Political Life. Asset of this statement lies in the deep history of the Ottoman Empire. The negative experiences took place in Turkish political life and their devastating consequences had served like a catalyst accelerating the process of dissolution of an empire ruled on three continents. Over time, by starting the politicization of Janissary Army and their extensions carrying the same mentality within had brought to an advanced level that made next intervention in politics. Disregarding of training and making warfare in the service of nation had been caused to destroy a large Empire. At the very beginning of 20th century, the most beautiful example of the destructive consequences of the Ottoman Army members’ dealing politics is the Balkan Wars.
