Abstract

Abstract

Also named as the history of the problems, one of the most important problems of the philosophy itself is to identify the beginning of its own history; for the wondering of the philosophy’s own birth – born from the curiosity and astonishment of human, making it a problem, trying to understand, get a grasp of when, where and how it was born is because of its nature. As a result of this attempt to understand and to grasp, many different views have come up on the birth of philosophy. One of these is that philosophy was born in Ancient Greece, that philosophy is a product of absolute Greek culture, and that it came up in Greece suddenly, miraculously. The other one is that the root of philosophy is based on the Eastern civilizations. The second view, putting forward the historical continuity and seeming more consistent, is in the direction of the philosophy’s being the joint product of different civilizations, Greeks’ making plenty of receptions from the specific idea traditions, knowledge and religious resources of ancient civilizations like Egypt, Mesopotamia, Indian and China, and the thesis’ that philosophy was born suddenly, miraculously being exaggerated.
