Abstract
Özel efektler ve makyaj teknikleri kullanarak, fotoğraflamak istediği obje ya da olguyu kendi bedeni üzerinde bağlamından kopararak fotoğraflar üreten Morimura, her bir fotoğrafında bedenini fotografik üretimin merkezi konumuna getirmektedir. Fotoğraflarının sadece öznesi değil aynı zamanda objesi de olan Morimura, belirli görsel imgelere, kendi bedenini metin haline getirerek yeni bağlamlar ve yan anlamlar kazandırmaktadır. Fotoğraf, gerçekliğin yeniden üretiminin bir aracı olarak çoğunlukla uzamın kendisidir. Diğer bir ifade ile, dijital ya da analog olmasından bağımsız olarak fotoğraf, objesinin var olduğu ve varlık gösterdiği uzamın ta kendisidir. Farklı ve değişik metinlerin yeni bir başka metnin içinde yeniden üretilmesi olarak tanımlayabileceğimiz Metinlerarasılık ve Medyalararasılık, postmodern dönem fotoğraf sanatında sıklıkla karşılaştığımız yeniden üretim ve temsil gibi konuların incelenmesinde oldukça verimli çözümleme araçlarıdır. Abstract
Changing and transforming his body according to subject he wants to shoot, spliting his body off its own space using special efftects and make-up, Morimura, positioning his body as the center of photographic reproduction. As becoming not only the subject but also the object of his own photographs, Morimura gives images new contexts and connotations via reproduction while setting his body as the text and space itself. Whether photograph is digital or analog, is a space where the subject of it exists/moves. Intertextuality and intermediality is one of the fruitful ways to analyze the reproduction and representation issues which we encounter often in postmodern photography era which can be described as the reproduction of different and various texts in a new text. In this study, the auto-portraits of Morimura will be analyzed through terms like intermediality and body to point out the new context and connotations attributed by the photographer.
