Abstract

Integration of Bağlama (Turkish folk instrument ) teaching-educationinto academic curriculum relates to the Post-Republican period. The very same practice continued in teacher-training colleges and radios. With the establishment of Turkish Music Conservatories, it was also embedded into academic life. In effect a teaching-educationpractice based on a program and methodology began and it was thus viable to express music in connection with general principles. Traditional Folk Songs are among the first domains in whicha traditional instrument, Bağlama, can be introduced. In order to play thesesongs by bağlama, there are different playing attitudes /playing by plectrum. These playing attitudes commonly named as "Playing Attitude", "Playing with an Attitude", "Showing Attitude" etc. gave birth to different styles of playing in dissimilar cultures. "Konya Attitudeor Plectrum", "Zeybek Attitudeor Plectrum", "Yozgat Attitudeor Plectrum", playing styles are mostly related to using right hand. These playing styles that explain how to play plectrum by Right Hand indicate the way plectrum is played in specific directions and tapping strings for specific rhythmical models(tapping). As has been stated above, traditional folk songs are the lead songsto be played by Bağlama; thus, before starting teaching-educationpractices it is suggested to adopt a systematic procedure to improve the sufficient ability to perform traditional playing styles. At this point,A Mathematical Model Proposal for "Right-Hand Techniques" in Bağlama Teaching/Education has been explained.
