Abstract

It is thought that more people will leave their countries due to the civil war when the number of refugees, who took refuge in neighbor countries during the Syrian War, was known to be millions. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) provides the needs of Syrian refugees and other refugees around the world regardless of race, religion, and gender. The aim of this study is to evaluate the satisfaction levels of Syrian Refugees about the social media of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In this context, the satisfaction levels Syrian refugees living outside the camps in Jordan and Turkey about the social media were evaluated and compared with a survey of 300 people. While age, gender, and educational background are independent variables in our study, our dependent variables include the frequency of use, the most shared topics, efficiency and satisfaction of the social media of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees by Syrian refugees. As a result of the study, it was revealed that Syrian refugees are not satisfied with the role of the social media of UNHCR. In this sense, no significant difference was determined between the demographic information of Syrian refugees living outside the camps in Jordan and Turkey (sex, age, education, profession) and their satisfaction levels of the social media of UNHCR.
