Abstract

The cognitive, physical, or affective differences that individuals have are accepted in the social environment they live in is an important issue for both the personal development of the individual and the development of the society. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of music activities on social acceptance levels of normal developing students who study in the same educational environment with the inclusive students. The study group consists of 4th grade students with normal development in an elementary school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Ankara. Two classes with inclusive students has been selected for the research. The Social Acceptance Scale, which was developed by Siperstein (1980) and translated into Turkish by Civelek (1990), was used as a pre-test & post-test application in the research. As a result of the study, it is seen that both classes includes students who have special needs music activities increase the social acceptance level in a positive way.
