Abstract

Our research, target group of which consists of 40 students from 5th to 12th grades, was carried out through workshops involving modern activities and active participation of the students. Our participants were selected among the students of Science and Art Centre located within Şahinbey Municipality, which hosts individuals from disadvantaged population who are able to make a difference with their unique characteristics. Our project was supported by Tubitak as project number 118B482 and it was completed between June 18-23 2018 under Şahinbey Directorate of National Education in Gaziantep city. In this research, it was aimed to view the issue of environmental awareness from different viewpoints by shaping them with the perspectives of different disciplines and to reach different dimensions of thought. These 11 workshops involved physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, orienteering, history, design, art, music and literature. All the workshops were developed by an expert group and they are completely original. The project implementation was completed in 6 days. Method of research was selected as pre-test and post-test experimental design. In our project, the scale consisting of three steps was applied as the first test and final test. The Environmental Interest - Attitude - Behaviour Scale was developed by Prof. Dr. Sinan Erten and its reliability rate is 0.73. Pre-test and post-test results were compared and interpreted. It was observed that the positive interest, attitude and behaviour levels of the participating students changed positively.
