Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between lateral thinking and conscious awareness. For the purpose of the study, students of Istanbul Province Foundation University Faculty of Sport Sciences and Academy of Physical Education and Sports creates the universe of study while 699 volunteer participants identified by simple random sampling method forms its sample. The data were collected with questionnaire method in this study which was conducted by using the scanning method (connective model). Personal information form, lateral thinking and conscious awareness scale were applied to the participants. The data which were collected recorded in SPSS 25 package program. Correlation and regression analysis were used for statistical analysis. As a result, it was found that there is a significant relationship between lateral thinking and conscious awareness level. Also, it is acquired that lateral thinking is a predictor of conscious awareness level and lateral thinking has an important impact on improving conscious awareness behavior. It is realized that imagination development and solution-oriented point of view are important for the individuals to recognize themselves and notice their originality.
