Abstract

The aim of this research is revealing how preschool teachers perceiving the concept of the “child” under favour of metaphors. The working team of this research contains 104 teachers who worked in preschools, primary schools and secondary schools in Avcılar and Beylikdüzü, Istanbul during the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. Phenomenology model used in the process of collection, examination and interpretation of data in the research. The informations obtained by collecting data analyzed by their contents. As a result of the analysis of collected data, 13 categories identified for the perception of concept of the child from the point of view of preschool teachers. When the metaphors produced by preschool teachers related to the concept of student are examined, it is seen that the most common category is “formable”.
