Abstract

Along with the globalization, a global transformation has started in business life. The main reasons ara rapid development of global trade and the acceleration of competition between companies. Women all over the world and in Turkey has started to operate as an active business life due to this rapid transformation. It has been determined that the companies where women work are more efficient and stand out in the competition. Besides, it was determined that, especially if they remain in the background in business life of women than men in developing countries such as Turkey and fall of the quality of work life. This perception is also considered as ’glass ceiling’ in the literature. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the perception of the three socio- cultural dimensions as uncertainty avoidance ‘,’ power distance ‘and’ masculine / feminine of female workers' perspective of quality of work life. For this purpose, a detailed literature review was done. After a review of the literature, a quantitative study was conducted among female employees who live in İstanbul and working in retail industry.
