Abstract

It is explicit that the media is the particular architect of the bridge of communication between the rulers and the ruled. In addition to being a reality in nature of work, it is also a attribution that emphasizes the power of the media. The direct relationship between the public opinion (community) and the media considered among the “discourse elite” acquires a quite different dimension when it comes to news case: At this point, it becomes a process that the editors decide for the news to be arranged in terms of content and visuals, shaped, qualified as message and assumed to formal structure. The role of the news editors, who are defined as “gatekeepers” in the media jargon, in this process is not only to open the communication channels and sometimes to focus on the hourly changing agenda, beyond that, also to motive the mental formation of the audience / reader by means of a series of news. However, a certain question in this process has emerged that who has / have the final word. Are gatekeepers also spokespersons of media owners who are qualified as “patronage”. Then how will they make news in behalf of public opinion? Is there this contradiction in nature the media? Here, all these questions are always debated. This is main reason why the editors are resigned that it is originating from administrative conflict and sometimes are encountered in the media or why editors are dismissed on the grounds of “new structuring”: Who should say the final word?
