THE INVESTIGATION OF GENERAL ADJUSTMENT LEVELS OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS IN TERMS OF NON-FUNCTİONAL ATTITUDE AND VARIOUS VARIABLES

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate whether the non-functional attitudes can predict general adaptation levels of vocational schools students and to compare the adaptation level of the students in terms of gender, age and the departmen being studied. The research group consists of 350 (137 female, 213 male) vocational school students. Ages of the students vary between 18-53. The data of the study has been collected by using Hacettepe Personality inventory (HKE) , Non-Functional Attitude Scale (FOTÖ) and Personal Information Form. So as to analyze the datas T Test , Multiple Regression Analysis and ANOVA has been used. Perfectionism , the need for approval , the independent and variable attitude ,which are four sub-dimensions of the non-functional attitude scale, has explained %11,1 of variance related to the overall adaption level. Non-functional attitude subscales has been found to be significant predictor of the general adaptation. According to the findings and results of the study, there appeared no significant difference between the girls and boys in terms of their general adjustment levels. In terms of age variable a significant difference has been found in favor of the students who are in 26-+ age group. There has not been a significant difference between the adaptation level of the students according to department variable.
