Abstract
Television has become an indispensable part of everyday life with its attractive and alternative programs. Television, as an effective element of the system, has a hegemonic power that reflects the period in which it lives and also continuously produces the system. However it is not free, because it is deeply attached to all classes of hierarchical mechanism. This situation, which can lead to restriction or corruption of rights and freedoms of the society and the individual even with very small orientations that can be done, needs to be corrected and also the freedom of the individual to act within their own minds must be provided. In this study, after discussing the subject in a wide range, examples were presented by some of the most watched television series in a randomly selected time period. These series are the most popular “Söz”, “Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz” and “İstanbullu Gelin” series between 18-24 September 2017, and the misrepresentations and negative relationships between the television, subject and power are examined with some sections in these series.
