Abstract

In this survey, the target topic is “the analysis of mental and physical health of the students at state high schools who practice sports and have a sportsman license and those who do not.” The exemplification for the research are the students attending state schools which are randomly chosen in the cities of Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman who deal with sports and have a license and those who don’t (those who don’t have sportsman license). In the research, researchers used an information form of 23 questions tested in terms of validity and dependability about the levels, types, causes and conditions of participation in the sport activities, and a measure (inventory) consisting of 41 questions aiming to determine mental and physical health. As a result of the research, it is found out that the student who take part in the sporting activities significantly differ in terms of mental and physical health when compared to those who do not practice sports.
