Abstract

Women are involved in scientific studies from many different perspectives. As a woman mother, she is one of the cornerstones of the family institution. The focus of this study is on women as mothers.Today, the use of social media is becoming increasingly widespread. Although social media usage has some positive aspects targeting users, it is also a fact that it brings some drawbacks. The majority of social media users can be said to be women. In this study; The aim of this study was to investigate whether women's social media use had an effect on maternity identities. For this purpose, 5 women with married and children using social media and 5 women married and not using social media. A total of 10 women were interviewed face to face and research data were collected. Based on the structured interview form consisting of a total of ten questions, the voice recordings of the responses were recorded and then analyzed. Depending on whether mothers use social media or not the differences and similarities between the answers of the respondents were investigated separately. As a result of the research, mothers who use social media compared to mothers who do not use social media; their communication with their children in a more general framework, they make more sense, not emotional, they are more competitive in the development of children, they give more importance to social activities in their social surroundings, their confidence in their surrounding is quite insufficient, especially in the care of children, maternalism can be said to be more related to the concept of perfectionism.
