Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to examine whether the various trainings given in the Turkish Armed Forces during military service have an impact on the perspective of social service and military service. In this context, a questionnaire consisting of 45 questions was used. The research was carried out on 520 active soldiers from the Gendarmerie Command and its affiliated personnel in Adıyaman province. The surveys were conducted on 5 April 2011, ten days prior to the discharge date with the date of 10 August 2010, on the first ten days from the date of submission to the union. According to the findings, military service opinions differed significantly between the education groups before military service (p <0.05). Similarly, after military service, views on military service differed significantly between education groups (p <0.05). According to the results of the research, it can be stated that the compulsory military service has an effect on the socialization of the individuals.
