Abstract

In this study, accounting and tax applications program students' reading habits are examined in terms of various dimensions (love, habit, necessity, desire, effect and benefit). Research scope consists of 1st and 2nd class students who are studying in the accounting and tax applications program in 2017/2018 Academic Year in Kocaeli University, Gazanfer Bilge Vocational School. Face-to-face questionnaires and “Attitude Scale Related to Book Reading Habits” developed by Gömleksiz (2004) were applied to the gathering survey data. Survey data were analyzed by SPSS.22. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students viewed the book reading activity as a habit which can be explained with love and desire and which has more benefit than necessity and has a positive effect on their development.
