Abstract

Erasmus speaks as insanity Goddess Stultitia in his book Encomium Moriæ. Insanity praises itself with several ways. Basic claim of the book is about being possible of happiness only with insanity. In other words, intelligent and cautious people cannot be happy but insane and mad people can be happy. The book entirely includes arguing and supporting this claim with examples. Writer deals with several groups and reveals that people who is close to insanity are more loved and more relax. The main irony of the book is the praise of folly. Each person likes be praise. But if a insane praise you what can be your reaction? Are you feel happy or sad? Hunters, alchemists, writers, legists, philosophers and politicians take a share from criticism of Erasmus but the allocates the biggest share to ecclesiastics.
